"Sal, I'm going to take the cookies out of the oven, because I don't want them to burn." Anne noticed that Sal had been gone quite some time and whoever had been on the phone had definitely gotten her attention." She looked up to see Sal standing at the doorway, leaning against the threshold with her hand on her heart, licking her lips and then glancing in her direction.

"I don't believe it and if I hadn't heard it with my own ears I would've thought that it was some kind of mirage. That was Josh and I know we just finished talking about him and then just like that he calls out of the blue." Anne was shocked by this new revelation and looked towards your friend to see if she was trying to tease her or make some kind of joke at her expense. She steps up to her friend, her 5 foot to frame dwarfed by Sal's 5'8, 135 lb body, with a nice pair of D cup breasts, all natural and wearing very little makeup.

Anne put her hand on Sal's shoulder to steady her, giving her the support and comfort that she needs to make her realize that the man of her dreams had just come out of the shadows after all of this time. "I know you have been talking about him for some time, but what makes him think that he can come back into your life and see you again after everything he has done. He should be ashamed, crawling on his hands and knees at your door begging for forgiveness. Calling you is just not enough and I hope you slammed the phone down on his ear." Anne knew from just looking at her that she didn't do that and the fact that she had been talking to him for over 5 minutes confirmed the fact that she wanted more than just some kind of apology.

"Anne, he told me that we had a lot to discuss and that he wanted to see me tomorrow tonight. He's in town for some kind of meeting and he wanted to touch base. At first I wanted to scream at him, but then I said that I thought it was a good idea. What the hell is wrong with me and what kind of hold does this man have on me that I can't see straight any time that he comes up in conversation. There is no denying that there is an attraction, but it's not just in what he looks like, but it's also with his sultry words and the way that he looks at me like he is undressing me with his eyes. I don't think it's a good idea that I should go and see him, because I know what's going to happen. Then again, I've wanted a repeat performance for some time and maybe now I will not only get that but some kind of explanation to explain his actions."

Anne knew that it was wrong for her to say anything disparaging about Josh, because her place was at Sal's side, no matter if she was making a mistake or not. "I know that I can't convince you otherwise, so I will bend to convention and ask you what you need from me. You know that you can lean on me and I will be there without judgment or condemnation. This is your life and I will not try to dictate the way that you live it, no matter how much I disagree with you seeing him again." They had been friends for too long to let a man get in between them.

"I really do appreciate that and I am a bit frazzled at the moment and will need you to help me find something to wear and help me with my makeup before the date." Anne couldn't say no and they began to pillage her closet, coming up with absolutely nothing. "

"I hope you know that you don't have to bow down to any man and you have everything going for you. I just want you to know that he doesn't deserve you and I think that you can do better. Believe me, I know that there will be no changing your mind, but I thought as a good friend that I should at least try." She was applying her makeup, making sure that she didn't look like some kind of whore or too demure, but in between the two. There was a fine line between looking like you were asking for it and looking like you were teasing him to the point of explosion. After she had applied the makeup, she looked at her best friend and saw the sexually adventurous woman that she had known all her life. Josh didn't stand a chance and he would be putty in her hand before the end of the night or maybe vice versa.

They said goodbye and Anne walked down the hall shaking her head in disbelief that Josh had really been on the phone. That man had turned her best friend into a basket case, wallowing in self-pity and wondering what was wrong with her and why he would leave in the middle of the night.

Josh had just landed a few hours ago and was contemplating his next course of action, when he got this urge to call the one person that had touched him in more ways than one. Across town at this very moment was the woman that had captured his heart, left him a shell of his former self and there hadn't been a day that went by that he didn't think about her.

Josh was that tall dark and handsome type with green eyes and a body that would make any man jealous and any woman want to be with him. There were several times that he could've succumbed to his baser instincts with one female or another, but Sal had ruined him for any other woman. They couldn't compare to the attraction and lust that he felt for Sal. He felt bad that he had to leave last summer, but he was on an enforced break and had found something that he wasn't expecting.

Standing at 6 feet tall, 225 pounds of solid muscle, he wore suits that complemented his statue, never one to keep a low profile and always the center of attention. This was no different and he was wearing a navy blue suit with a blood red tie and white shirt that made him look powerful and commanding at the same time.

He felt like a little boy lost in his own thoughts, as he picked up the phone several times and just couldn't bring himself to make that phone call. Finally, he made this growl of contention, slammed his hand down on the dresser in front of him, then picked up the phone with his fingers dialing and waiting for someone to answer on the other end.

He heard her voice and it made him go ice cold with panic, until finally he found the strength to say those words that had been haunting him all these months "Sal, I'm in town for some business and I was wondering if you would like to catch up. We have a lot to discuss, but I will understand perfectly if you don't want to see me." He waited on bated breath, hearing the line go dead and then hearing breathing on the other end. He thought for sure that she was going to lambaste him, scream at him with several expletives, but all she did was finally agree to meet him. They decided on the same Italian restaurant that they had met on their first date, because it had sentimental meaning to the both of them.

As he hung up, he began to think of her last summer and wondered if she had changed at all in that time. Was she the same woman that she had been, a fiery, take no prisoners kind of attitude or had his betrayal of her trust made her into something that he wouldn't recognize. There was really only one way to find out and now the die had been cast and there was no telling what was going to happen from this moment on.

Walking over to the balcony, he threw open the doors and let the wind cascade through his dark hair. He felt the hairs on his arms begin to rise and then he put his hands on the railing, while looking out at the city and imagining what it would be like to see her again. The first time was unexpected, something that he wasn't prepared for and he had fallen into the trap that he had swore that he would never find himself in.
