A bad law is no law".

"All right Bruce," Lilith said as she returned to Alfred's room in Gotham General, "I got you a croissant and orange juice"

"All right Bruce," Lilith said as she returned to Alfred's room in Gotham General, "I got you a croissant and orange juice". Alfred, who had woken up a couple of hours before, looked at Lilith expectantly. "The nurse said that she'll bring you yogurt and an apple in a few minutes".

The butler made a displeased expression. "That's not a proper meal, but all right".

"Eat, Bruce," Lilith said to Bruce. The boy took a sip of his juice and then a small bite of the croissant under the watchful eyes of Alfred and Lilith.

Jim Gordon came in a minute later. "How are you feeling?" He asked Alfred. His phone vibrated, but he ignored it.

"All right," answered Alfred. "Slight puncture, leaked a bit".

"So I know last night must be kind of a blur, but do you have any idea who did this?" The young Detective questioned.

"It-It wa-" Bruce was going to say Reginald Payne, but Alfred stopped him.

"Dark. It was very dark. I saw a shadow, then my saviors, Master Bruce, and that vigilante were leaning over me. I have no idea what she was doing there, but she helped save my life and stayed with Bruce until the ambulance came".

Lilith smiled. "Yes, Jim. Say thank you for us if you see her".

Jim sent her a tight lip smile. "I will". And then he turned to Bruce. "Did you get a look at the guy?"

"No," he lied. "Is it true that she's been helping the GCPD? The Red Demon, I mean".

"Yes, she has helped us in a few cases," Jim told.

"And she's not been killing anymore?" Bruce questioned, taking another bite from his croissant.

Jim shook his head. "Not as far as we know, no". Bruce nodded and continued eating thoughtfully while Jim's phone buzzed again. "Sorry, my Captain keeps calling".

"It's fine, Detective," Alfred said. "Just- Just go".

"No, I can stay," told Jim.

"Don't worry, Detective," Lilith interjected. "I'm going to stay here with them for a bit. Alfred is going to be fine, as long as he stays in bed for the next week," she sent a warning look at the butler. Lilith knew Alfred well and was sure he would try to get out as soon as he saw the opportunity.

Alfred sent a nod but Lilith knew better than to believe it. Then he looked at the Detective again. "I really appreciate you sitting with Master Bruce, but as you can see, I'm completely fine. Go".

His phone continued buzzing, so Jim gave in. "All right. I'll try and stop by later".

Bruce stood up. "Thank you again for coming, Detective".
