Megan~
It was a brand new day for Megan. She spent majority of her morning cleaning and decorating the house with some of the things she and Normani bought together. Most of it she left alone because she didn't have the same vision Normani did, to which she figured she'd leave it alone until the woman was ready to come over again.
She was currently on the phone with Solange, Beyoncé's sister, telling her what happened last night and the weirdness of it all. "I tried to stay calm but she kissed me out of nowhere. She was acting weird the whole night."
"Maybe she likes you."
"That's obvious but I'm not ready to date anyone new, especially not Normani. I felt like I had found a genuine friend. She's nice, gorgeous, and maybe later down the line I would've been open to dating, but not now."
"Oh that's bullshit and you know it. The girl kissed you and you liked it so now you're conflicted on what to do. The reason you're so damn confused is because you don't want to let my sister go."
"That's not true Sol."
"It is. No one is rushing you Meg, you can move at your own pace but don't block your blessings. Communicate with her if you like her. Just tell her that you don't see yourself dating anyone right now, but it's not off the table. Take it slow."
"I barely know her though. Akira and I just moved here and I don't want to move too quick not only for the sake of myself, but Akira as well. She isn't ready."
"Are you sure it's Akira? Or is it just you?"
"It's both. I'm 100% sure it's both."
"Righttt..."
Megan wasn't sure what the deal was with Normani but in a way, she was panicking. She didn't know if she wanted to pursue anything with anyone, ever. In fact she was a bit scarred from Beyoncé. Watching the love of your life die right in your arms was nothing short of traumatizing. Experiencing love again was something Megan yearned for, but death? Who in their right mind could go through that twice?
"Morning." Akira finally emerged from her room and went to the fridge.
"Goodafternoon. Your auntie is on the phone."
"Hi auntie Sol!!" Akira smiled and grabbed the phone off the counter. "I miss you too, I think mom and I will come visit for Thanksgiving. How's grandma?"
If Megan hadn't felt bad before about moving Akira, she certainly felt worse now. She thought she was doing both of them a favor by moving out of Chicago and coming somewhere Beyoncé loved, but she never once thought about where either of them would rather be. Majority of Beyoncé's immediate family resided in Houston and a big wave of regret washed over Megan when she realized that's where they should've been going all along. Listening to Akira interact with Solange confirmed all of that, she would've at least been happy surrounded by family and friends that she's blood-related to. Even though legally Akira was Megan's, she had way more biological relatives that she could've been around.
"Yeah, I'll let her know. I love you too auntie, bye."
"Auntie said not to forget to take holiday pictures, they were moms' favorite."
Megan nodded, "You know Akira, how would you feel about going to live in Houston?"
"We're moving to Houston!?"
"No, not we. Just you. It'd give you an opportunity to be around your family."
"Family?" Akira laughed, "you and mom must've never talked about this."
"What do you mean? Seeing how you interacted with Sol I'm wondering what may be best for you. I'm technically just your adoptive mom, but you have family who you could be with on a daily basis."
