Chapter 30

White Knight's Pov

I sat on the roof of the base as I watched the stars and the moon as it raised high into the sky. It had been over a month since my carrier and Frost Bite returned to Primus. My relationship with Arcee had slowing grew, she asked questions and I would answer them. Most being about her carrier and myself. I sighed as I looked to myself in my beast mode. I still hadn't successfully turned back to my true form. I had gotten close but my body tensed and my joints locked.

It hurt like the pits but Ratchet was able to help me. I huffed a sigh as I looked back up, my claws gently tapping the ground beneath me. My mates words staying in my head. I didn't know how to move on when I still morn her. I glanced behind me as I heard someone coming up behind me. "It's very late White Knight." I relaxer slightly seeing it was only prime as he came to sat next to me.

I didn't answer as I just looked back to the scenery. "Couldn't sleep?" I shook my head to his question, I did have trouble sleeping again but I just been so stressed about not being able to get transformations down. I glanced down as I felt him gently rubbing my side. "Your body just isn't used to the motion. It will take time like Ratchet stated." Optimus said as if reading my mind, I only growled slightly as I looked away.

"I have given it time, prime. And every time I get close I just hurt myself in the process. It's hopeless." I plopped my upper body down as my head hung over the edge of the base. I closed my optics as I just laid there, tho I opened them as I felt him rest a hand on my shoulder. "There is always hope, just sometimes you have to go throw the pain to have the reward." He had knelt down next to me as he spoke.

I slowly lifted my head and neck as I looked down at him now. "You always had a way with words." I huffed softly as I watched him sit next to me. Propping one of his leg while the other hung over the edge. He rest his arm on his knee as he looked up to me. "Indeed, so do you. You have gotten your speech down. Your Carrier and mate would be proud." I looked down and smiled gently to myself.

"Yea..." I thought a moment as we both sat in silence. I crossed my front legs as my claws twitched. "Actually...Frost might not be....she wants me to move on and be happy. I loved her and I still do just..." I went silent as I looked to him. "Sorry, I'm sure you don't want to hear this." I looked away. "You're fine Knight, I understand what you are feeling. The lose of someone so close, it can be very hard for one to move on. Most being to afraid to try again at the fear of going through the pain." I looked back to him as he spoke.

"You speak as if you lost someone as well." He nodded "This war as taken many that were close to me. Except a few." He looked to me as he said his last few words. My head perked slightly as I watched him. I stared at him a few moments as we locked optics before I turned my head again. "Optimus....why do you care? For me? I have fought alongside my twin and played a part in hurting those close to you." I spoke not looking at him.

I tensed slightly as I felt my head being pulled and saw Optimus had stood up, holding my head level with his. "I've always cared for you Knight, even tho you played a part in Megatrons plans. He lied to you and you had no reason not to believe him. The past is past, there's no changing it. You've done more than prove yourself in my optics." He offered a small smile to me, I felt my body heat a bit as I watched him.

I hesitated a moment before I gently pressed my head against his chest. My optics closing as he gently held and rubbed my head. I gave a soft purr as my tail slowly swayed. It had been years since I felt this at pace with someone. "Thank you prime." I spoke as he let go and looked to me. "Would....you like to join me out here a bit longer? It is a beautiful night." I motioned to the sky then looked back to him.

"I'd love too." I smiled as he sat back down next to me. I slowly lowered my head next to him as he rubbed the top of it. I closed my optics as I relaxed next to him.
