Jerry sighed loudly, making you feel more concerned about what he was about to tell you.
"Okay... mhmm sit down for a minute little one," Jerry said while walking back and forth in the quiet living room.
You sat slowly down on the couch that used to be yours, filled with memories of you and Elvis's late-night talks.
"Jerry take a deep breath and sit down... you're stressing me goddamn out over here" you wiped your hair off your forehead and let a breath out.
"You know much I care about you right?" Jerry said with a high-pitched voice.
"Yeah..." you frowned your brows at him.
He slowly walked to you and sat down on the coffee table in front of you, reaching out for your hands.
"Okay honey, so you know Elvis right"
You just nodded at his words, while your stomach turned at the sound of Elvis's name.
"Oh god I can't do it" he let his head hang down low, not to meet your eyes while saying it.
"Jerry look at me" you squeezed his hands, his eyes were tearing up.
You caressed his cheek slowly, you had never seen Jerry in this state of mind before, and you were quite overwhelmed by it.
"Elvis is getting married..." the words struck right to your heart and stomach, and everything stopped for a second.
You just stared blankly into nothing, closing everything out, every sound, every touch... everything.
Your eyes still focusing on Jerry's moving lips, but not hearing anything at all.
"Y/N! Are you there" Jerry's lips mimicked, of course, you were there physically but not mentally.
The pain in your heart was unbearable -   "I will wait for you no matter how long it will take... I will always love you"

Jerry shook your body, to snap you out of your trance. A teardrop was rolling down your cheek without notice, you quickly wiped it away and took a deep breath before focusing on Jerry again.
"Honey, are you alright?"  Jerry said while nuzzling your hand.
"Oh... yeah of course" you cleared your throat, "you sure?" He asked looking concerned at your wet eyes.
"I just need to process- I'm sorry Jerry give me a minute" you rose from the couch, and walked out of the living room with tears rolling down your cheeks.
You stopped at the guest toilet locking yourself in, and trying to fix your makeup, a knock interrupted you.
"Who-" you cleared your throat "who is it?"
"Olivia," the woman outside said, you relieved the breath.
Maria, was the maid of the house who had always been there for you, even when you broke down in tears at the phone call that had started it all, and ever since you left the house you had been holding contact with her.
"Honey, have you told him yet?" She asked from the other side of the door.
You slightly opened the door, making her see your wet eyes.
"Olivia did you know he was getting married" she looked at you with a questionable face.
"Oh gosh, you knew!"
"I'm so sorry miss I thought if I didn't say anything-" you slammed the door shut.
"Y/N... I still think you have time to say it" Olivia mumbled into the door.
"Olivia! He is getting married, I can't say that I need him back when he is engaged to another woman! I need to get out of the place"
You opened the bathroom door quickly, looking Olivia straight into her eyes, not saying anything just walking past her over to the front door.
You swung the front door open, and there he was,
"Y/N! Are you alright honey" Elvis said looking concerned at you, without saying anything you just walk right by him, not meeting his eyes?
With a fast pace, you walked over to your car, while Elvis followed right behind yelling at you, causing him to get the whole birthday party's attention
"don't you walk away when I'm talking to you, you goddamn know I hate it!" he grabbed your arm hard enough to leave bruises.
"Elvis let me go, don't make a scene," you said while looking down at his tight hand.
"I ain't letting ya go before you tellin' me what is going on"
You were hesitant with your words "A-Are you getting married" the words felt like vomiting in your mouth, and a teardrop fell.
His tight hand loosened around your arm, he didn't say anything, he just stood there numb.
"Well congratulations Elvis," you said, turning around, walking off, and taking in a deep breath.
You fumbled with your car keys, shaking your hands, eyes filled with tears making it even harder to get the key into the car door but eventually you finally got it, you didn't waste a second getting into the car, you looked at Elvis for last time that was still standing numb up on the hill, you bit your lip trying not to burst into tears by the sight of him.
Every sentence you were told to you runs through your mind
"Elvis is getting married..."
"Honey this is Catherine m-my-"
"Y/N... I still think you have time to say it"  time...maybe Olivia is right... Oh gosh, stop it Y/N! Of course, you don't have time. You drove into the side of the road to get your mind together, you firmly gripped the steering wheel and screamed out in frustration.
"GOD I FUCKING HATE HIM! WHAT WAS I THINKING ARGH" you heavily breathed "I will wait for you no matter how long it will take." You mocked his words.
"Sure you do Elvis! You narcissistic liar!"
You calmed yourself down, forcing yourself to stop being pathetic and feeling sorry for yourself.
You had to face the truth... you had lost Elvis and you would always be the other woman in this game of his.
You stared into the thin air that felt like hours, coping with the pain in your heart and the truth that had hit you.
You searched through your bag, looking for a tissue to dry off the tears streaming down your face.
"Shit! Mason's gift!" You took a deep breath and drove off to Graceland again.
