A Dragon. Out of all the things it had to be a bloody massive dragon.

"Piss off!"

Blue cussed aggressively looking up at the roughly fifty-foot being as she scrambled backward.

"I'm not going with you,"

"Y̸̪̾̆͝Ò̷̢͕͖̉Ṳ̴̤̯̍̀ ̸̟́D̴̖͐͗̔O̵̼̳̗͊̀N̴̢̛̦̊͒'̶͉̈͠T̶̰̾̏ ̴̛̭̆̇H̵̨̯̼̒̑́Ả̵̯͉̀V̵̡͑͋͜E̷̳͉̍͘̚ ̶̢͖̎A̸̲͋̇ ̶̝̣͂́ͅC̴̢̘̳̏͆̓H̷̦̘̓Ó̸͙̬͘I̷͉̓Ć̶̪̰̑͝Ê̴͇͇̿͗͜"

Colt's booming voice hurt Blue's ears, but that wasn't the only issue, they weren't sure whether he was doing it on purpose or not.

No matter, they didn't have to think about that as the only thought that was running through their head was fear. Cold fear, the type that makes your nerves freeze up and your muscles lock in place. The type that sets in stone the fact there is no hope.

(FALL TO MY WORLD)

It was easy to walk among the fire, the flames barely burning their skin. It was nice, like a mother lovingly running her hands through their hair. There was nothing to worry about other than the looming threat of extinction.

Feyr-Rot was a disease. A horrible, filthy disease that brought many a phoenix face to face with the beautiful skeletal face of death. Her welcoming smile being the last thing they saw.

It took away a phoenix's ability to withstand heat and broke down the brain in such a way that they forgot that they had lost their heat resistance. What would have been a carefree walk was now burning skin, melting flesh, and confused screams piercing through the air.

Mellohi was immune. It left Mellohi to hear the screams.

(FALL WITH MY WORLD)

"B̴̭̓͌̑̎E̴̡̓̓ ̵̗̬̗͗̓N̵͖͚̈́O̷̜̭̺͓͘̚Ṭ̵̰̣̮͑̒ ̵͔̭̣̹͕̂͝Ä̸̮͔̪̟́͗̏F̵̢̝̤̈́R̸͔̪̖͓͆̊Á̷̮̹̳̇̇͜Ǐ̶͖̮̦̔̅̐D̷̖͆̆̎, ̵͕̋̿̿͌̓Ḩ̴͕͈̻͆̓͜O̶̲̗̮͝A̴̲̙̖͎̅R̴̨̛̤͈̀̎̀̋͜D̵̡͔̼̦̾L̴̨̝͌̀̓̍İ̴̢̦͔̰͛̔̅N̷̨̫͉̅̽͝G"

His voice was almost torturous to listen to, it grated on itself like old machinery but was deep and left a lingering pit in one's stomach.

It was funny. He spoke and acted like an angel, the ones the Old Testament described, rather than childish cupids shown on TV; he looked like a demon with horns that looked to be drenched in blood protruding from his skull, wide, yellow eyes that glowed in the dark with slitted pupils, which had to be some form of bioluminescence, and large leathery wings breaking from his spine.

The sound was horrific and Blue fought the urge to throw up. Not that there was much to hurl. Their stomach had been empty for a long time.

They turned on their heels in some feeble attempt to run. It was arguably stupid to try and run from a being with wings. It was naïve to think they could outrun something that had been eating comfortably while they had to hide and scavenge for anything vaguely edible.

They had barely staggered a few steps forward before they were picked off their feet. The moment they moved away from the ground, Blue stopped struggling. There wasn't a point anyway; their feet hurt like a bitch. Who knew walking on legs would be so painful?

Blue cursed the witch in their head over and over, calling that wench every word in their vocabulary as they dangled dangerously high over the ground. If they ever found them they would force them to change them back. Legs were horrible, they wanted their tail back.

A sudden wave of anger washed over Blue and all they could see was red. Violent, angry red. With their arms immobile, Blue did the only thing they could.

"Let." Blue kicked their legs violently.

"Me." Pain like walking on broken glass shot through their legs.

"Go." They enunciated every word sharply each time their foot connected with the tough scales on Colt's skin.

"Ņ̵̯͕͖͗̃O̸̡̙̯̊̍́̌," he said shortly, not looking at the exhausted person in his arms, squirming and still struggling to escape. He tightened his grip on the once-siren, who seemed to deflate in his arms as they came to terms with their fate.

Blue visibly wilted. The dragon was dangerous, so much more so than their current, temporary human form. Would it take them back to its den or whatever it was? Would it kill them?

Goddamnit, they just wanted to swim again, was that too much to ask? Cutting through the water at unimaginable speeds, swimming alongside schools of numerous colorful fish and basking in the warm sun with their tail hanging lazily off a rock.

All these pleasures were cruelly ripped away when their tail split in two and then morphed and cracked into shape. Fucking witch. Blue was going to kill them (after they gave Blue their tail back of course).

Hot tears stung their eyes and if one had asked, they would have said it was the wind in their eyes. Any hope that burned in Blue's chest was quickly extinguished as exhaustion took over and lured them into a fitful state of semi-consciousness.

The last red thing they felt was the jerky, yet steady beat of Colt's wings readying for landing and the impact of the dragon landing.

The last thing they heard was the smooth sound of a door sliding open, then sliding shut with a clean thunk.

"[Welcome back to the Jabberwocky, Captain.]" A clean British accent cut through the painful silence

Then there was an empty pause.

"[Welcome, New Recruit. We're glad to ha...]"

Blue didn't hear the rest of the robotic greeting as they blacked out.
