I woke up in my bed the bright sun blinding my eyes I sat up. I couldn't remember anything it feels like i have been sleeping for days. But i could of sworn i hadn't but i couldn't remember, I walked out my room the same thing i do every day. Walking downstairs hoping for a lovely breakfast, I saw no one. The place was empty. I looked to the kitchen, nothing but a note. i ran to it seeing it was to me. "By the time your awake me and your mother have left, they'll be after you next. Find someone, anyone that can help you"
I felt tears rolling down my face. 'They left me' i thought to myself. almost everything in the house was gone or broken. They left my room clean, alone. I looked upstairs once more yelling for my parents hoping it was some joke. The note was real, It all was. I opened the front door seeing dead people everywhere. I stepped out, Dirty, and No shoes. I saw 3 people walking with weapons i yelled "Hello?" i ran to them, one of them pulled a gun to me. I started to cry "He looks safe" The younger boy said "we don't know that for sure" The older male said grabbing my arm.
i cried more and louder "Kid stop crying your going to draw them towards us" I stopped confused "What" I said looking at the man who's grip wasn't as harsh as before "Those walkers" He explained pointing to the dead body on the ground I wanted to vomit. about 5 minutes later we were in a house i was getting questioned by both of the men "Have you been biten?" I shook my head no. they nodded "Where are your parents?" the male called Rick asked "They left me with this note" i uttered giving Rick the note. He read it then give it to morgan "They left there son here?" the younger boy said "he should stay with us." they bickered for about 5 minutes until i pasted out.
I woke up rapped around a blanket on the floor, The sun brighten a bit as i feel some shaking me awake "Your time to leave little man" I assumed they were leaving me behind but to my surprised they drove me in a car, to a police station to get supplies. It felt like ages before i was taken into the car by Rick. He was a police officer, I remember hearing about a police officer getting shot. He was planning to go to atlanta and taking me with him. it was all going well until we ran out of gas and found a house "Stay here be careful" i stood there spinning around. about 5 minutes later he came out with a horse, I gave him a look, like the kind when your friend does something stupid and they should know it's stupid.
He got off the horse, Lifted me up and get me on and then slowly got back on to not frighten the horse. He got the horse moving the watched the sun. it got boring in silence after a point so i spoke up "Where are we actually going?" I was in a jacket but still had the same dirty clothes i woke up with. He still seemed confused on what was going on as well. He took a few minutes before giving me a reply.
"To a safe place" a short but meaningful answer. I didn't say anything, I just sat there holding onto the horse thinking to myself 'what would it be like if i hadn't woken up that day? What if it was a different day? Would i be dead?' Questions spun around my head for a while until we got there. The city was dead, cold, there was no one in sight. Me and Rick were still on the horse but we were now crowded by zombies. I yelped not knowing what to do, But Rick knew what to do. he jumped on a tank that was most likely used to try and save people but failed. After jumping on the tank he yelled "Stand up" I was a bit scared but i done so standing up and listening to the horse yelping in pain as Rick grabbed me and dropped me inside of the tank.
He yelled for me to move and i did, moving away from the view of the tank entrance. he jumped down joining me in the small tank. I felt quite ill and i felt myself started to faint "kid?" Rick turned to me shaking me. That's when i passed out...
