"I don't want to go in, Jimin you don't understand how bad it is," A feeble voice whispered, dazed eyes staring ahead at the boy on his phone who had a saddened look on his face.
"Tae, you shouldn't start missing school just because of him. You know that you didn't do anything wrong, so you should go in." Jimin softly replied, staring at his best friend who wiped his eyes with the palm of his hands.
"No, no I can't. I walk in there and everyone stares at me with disgust, none of my teachers like me anymore and never stop when he picks on me," Taehyung's voice wavered as he held back sobs, "He's in all my classes, I walk in there and people throw things at me and he always threatens me every single time class ends,"
Jimin felt useless, he had no idea how to help Taehyung who continued to unleash tears in the FaceTime. The two went to separate universities too, so it wasn't possible to come in and save him.
"I thought people would be more mature in universities," Jimin mumbled and rubbed his forehead out of frustration. "It's ridiculous how no one wants to help, if you were guilty then the court would have charged you already,"
"I know, but everyone just thinks I have a really good lawyer and that I can get away with it because my parents are rich," Taehyung roughy dragged his palms across his eyes and hiccuped, "I really can't keep living like this,"
"No, don't say that. You can't give up just because no one believes you! Fight for your innocence and prove that you weren't the one who changed out the papers," Jimin firmly encouraged the boy who just shook his head.
"It's impossible, the camera video shows me coming out of the storage room of course they'd think it's me," Taehyung picked on the skin of his hands below his study desk, hopelessly staring into the void whilst Jimin tried his best to calm him down.
"It's not your problem. If he needed that scholarship so bad because he can't afford university fees, then why the fuck is he still there? Why isn't he taking out a loan?"
"Because his parents want him to go to a prestigious university and our university only allows half the fees to be paid, the scholarship is the only thing that lets the entire thing be free," Taehyung hiccuped, "I didn't even celebrate getting a scholarship properly, that day haunts me so bad."
"It'll get better Tae, they can't frame you forever."
"You can't blame him forever." Namjoon stared at the male who flipped through his notes in an empty classroom.
"Blame? I know he fucked it all up, you've seen the camera footage of him coming out of the room with papers,"
"Yeah but come on, you've tormented him and so many people have beaten him up for it- wouldn't that be enough for him to confess if it was actually him?" Namjoon asked the boy who just stayed silent and stared down at his book.
"I don't care. I'll fuck him up for the rest of my life and until I get my scholarship. My parents are struggling to pay fees, I'm trapped in this shit hole because they won't listen, and he made it worse by stealing it from me. His parents are rich, he doesn't even need it!" Jeongguk yelled angrily, chucking his book to the side.
"Don't you think it's a bit much? It's not like it's entirely his fault you're stuck here- I mean I guess it was a fucked up thing to steal and cause a whole court case that's taking out more money, but you don't even know if it's him,"
"I have a camera footage and a witness. What do you have to prove he didn't do shit?" Jeongguk scoffed at his friend who just let out a sigh and decided to give up trying.
The two didn't end up continuing anyway when the mentioned boy stepped into the classroom with his head casted down. Their eyes stayed on him as if the boy had made a huge mistake coming in.
Taehyung sat right at the back, different to the beginning of the year where he used to sit right at the front beside Jeongguk himself. He never looked up either and many often wondered if his neck was stuck like that.
Jeongguk bitterly snickered, "Look at him acting all fragile and like the victim," Namjoon said nothing but just stared at the boy with pity.
They both faced forward again, more students began to fill the room and Taehyung was drowned out rather quickly.
Taehyung picked up a note and began to write on it slowly, wiping away the tears that would drop on it.
I hope he'll believe me.
