Summary:

(n.) the phobia of losing someone you love

————————-

This all felt too familiar to Wednesday, walking into her dorm. The big red duffel bag, the angry stuffing of posessions into said duffel bag, and the anger. Anger radiating off of Enid with such force that she could almost see it.

And the fear, which surprised Wednesday, because it was radiating off of herself. "What are you doing." she asks, trying to keep her voice monotone, steady, and devoid of the flood of emotion she was feeling.

"What does it look like, Wednesday. Can't you see even the consequences of your actions," Enid said, with so much venom in her voice Wednesday almost flinched, "Or are you that ignorant of the fact that you hurt people."

Wednesday didn't need to pull the murder board out to figure that Enid was talking about herself.

"I was not actively trying," she started, before being cut off.

"Thats because you dont try! You never do! You dive into everything without telling anyone !" Enid yelled, turning around, and Wednesday could see the angry tears that threatened to spill.

"I mean, come on, a fucking stalker?! Thats why you've been sneaking off to god knows where in the middle of the night?! Thats why youve been throwing yourself into reckless danger, when I could be there to help you?! Is it why you've practically stopped talking to me?!" Enid was yelling, her voice cracking occasionally, from the sheer anger threatening to hinder her speaking ability.

"Enid,"

"Don't. Communication in a relationship is supposed to go both ways, Wednesday. " she spat, and Wednesday fliched, barely visible, but it happened.

"You can't even bring yourself to admit you've hurt me! I mean, christs sake, Wednesday, I've given you so. Many. Chances. To just talk to me . And how many have you taken? None!" she was crying now, and Wednesday had to fight every urge to go and wipe her tears away, knowing it would do nothing to quell her anger.

"Enid I'm,"

"You're not sorry, Wednesday. You've done it over and over and over! When will it end?! I want an answer. When will you stop lying to me? When will you finally show that you want this relationship to work? That you will stop throwing yourself into these situations?!"

Wednesday faltered, she couldn't just stop chasing a stalker who was after her, "You... never had a problem without it before." she stated, voice comig out weaker than she would have liked.

Enid let out a dry chuckle, "Thats because I've tried so hard, to think that you were just gripping onto the habit of rushing head first into danger. That you were trying to put effort into this. Into us."

"I can do things differently. I swear." Wednesday said, hating how she sounded like she was pleading.

"I want to believe you, I really do, Wednesday." Enid said, her voice resigned, and body clearly tired of arguing.

"I'm trying, I really am." Wednesday said, almost moving to reach out, to do something, anything, to let Enid know she cared.

"Do you ever mean the things you say?" Enid whispered, more tears spilling, only this time from sadness, and resignation more than anger.

"Only when it comes to you." Wednesday said, trying her hardest to give some sort of indicator so that Enid wouldn't leave.

"I just... I deserve more than this, Wednesday. I deserve to not worry wether or not my girlfriend is dead. I deserve to not have to ponder wether I'm being lied to or not." Enid said, everything about her body showed she was tired, and just wanted to leave, "Your truth is always temporary, Wednesday."

That hurt something in Wednesday that she didn't know was there, "Everything is temporary, this is merely one of those things."

"This?" Enid asked, sounding completely broken, "Our relationship? You thought it would be temporary, even from the start?"

Wednesday wanted to crack. To tell her how no, she only wanted to hold Enid, to be with her until death, to cradle her, to comfort her, but she couldn't move. Too paralyzed out of fear, fear that Enid was leaving her.

Enid scoffed, turning back to her bag, and grabbing it, before walking towards the door. "Goodbye, Wednesday." she said shortly, before closing the door, gone.

Wednesday had done this before, she went and curled up under the window, only this time, she cried. She let the dam break, and she let it flow. She hadn't meant for this to happen, any of it. And now, because of her ignorance, Enid, the one person who made her black heart beat, the only person who made her feel emotion, was gone.

And once again, she was alone.
