Conversations (A Hotchniss fanfic!)

Forever?

Emily had moved in just over a year ago and everything has been going so well! Jack has really taken to Emily and enjoys coming to stay with her. He likes how easy it is to talk to her, sometimes he doesn't understand what Adults are saying but when it's Emily she makes it easier.

Aaron loved spending time with his son and his girlfriend. They were like a perfectly imperfect family. Both of them had histories that affected them but together nothing seemed to matter.

A life together seemed better than any other, and he wasn't sure what life without Emily was like anymore. She was constantly on his mind - if not in his arms - and that's the way he liked it. So what was to happen next seemed completely natural and extremely exciting...

"Oh.. My god Aaron!"

He rolled off her and pulled her into his arms and kissed her sweaty forehead.

"I love you Emily, more than you will ever know"

"I love you too Aaron. You know that? What's bringing this on recently? You've been acting so strange? Is everything all right?"

He thought about it for a minute, everything was better than alright it was amazing! He tried not to act strangely recently, but who was he kidding to think he could trick a profiler!

"Everything's good baby, now come on let's jump in a shower and then I have somewhere I want to take you."

He pulled her from the bed and into the bathroom.

Just over half an hour later they left the house that they shared. Emily was still none the wiser of where she was going but she trusted Aaron and just let him take her.

Aaron parked the car and walked with Emily through the public park, hand in hand. They admire the view of the park in the evening as the sun was almost finished setting.

He stopped at a bench and sat her down on it. She was now severely confused...

"Emily, from the day you walked into my office to join the BAU I new you were special.."

"Aaron what are you doing?" Emily butted in.

He kissed her to silence her and continued his speech.

"I knew you were special not only from your background but from your determination to be in the unit. I had always admired that." He pulled her up from the bench and continued to walk.

"When you left the unit so you didn't have to me one of strauss's moles I couldn't believe it. You did what you did to protect me and I'll never be able to explain how truly great full I am for that. I came in search of you and made you get on that plane with me, not only for the teams benefit but because I knew I needed you. Then when Haley left me I turned to my work. I busied myself with it and I know that was wrong but I needed a distraction from the emptiness in my life.

Then you came into my life. I suppose I've always had feelings for you and they started long before that night in my office. It was that night that I have into all logic and followed my heart and it lead me to you. I've always looked for you, both in the field and the office. It was a sense of security I felt you, or at least that's what I told myself so I didn't have to face my feelings and admit them. I love you Emily Prentiss and I want to continue our simple little routines. Like making pancakes on Sunday mornings, foot rubs on nights after cases and waking up in each other's arms everyday but I want more. Your the light that came into my life and I'm not letting you go not ever!"

He turned to face her and seen the tears in her eyes.

He got down on one knee and pulled out a ring box. He opened it and showed the beautiful ring inside it. It was while gold diamond ring with one large stone surrounded by smaller ones.

"Emily Prentiss, Will you do me the honour, of becoming my wife and marrying me?"

Emily was shaking and could barely manage a response but with tears streaming from her eyes she managed to nod, "Yes Aaron yes I'll marry you!"

He slipped the ring on her finger and got up and kissed her with all his love for her. She embraced him with the biggest and most great full hug. And they continued to walk the park.

It was dark now and all Emily could see ahead was candles on the picnic tables and some hanging from the trees. As they kept walking Emily could make out the team all looking at her along with her other friends and her family!

She gripped Aaron's hand even tighter and as they approached they were welcomed by a round of applause.

She turned to Aaron and asked,
"What's all this for?"

He replied..

"It's our engagement party and its all for you my love. I called your parents to ask their blessing and when they accepted it seemed only right to invite them to get to know my family."

She kissed him, generating another round of applause from the guests and a few whistles from Morgan.

They started the music and everyone danced, shared some laughs and enjoyed the food prepared by Aaron's brother and celebrated the news of the soon to be married couple.

The only thing Aaron wasn't aware of was that Emily had a little news of her own to share with him...
