Today, we get to bring Ashton home. Kona is ecstatic and bouncing in her feet.
As I change, Kona keeps pounding on the door and telling me to hurry up. I scold her from the other side and finish changing into something casual yet comfy. Which in my case, would just be elastic pants and maternity shirts. Sometimes Luke's shirts, but mostly maternity shirts.
"Stop pounding, dammit. You're giving me a headache." I shout making the pounds go quiet almost immediately.
I open the door and waddle down the stairs and meet Kona and Luke in the living room.
"We ready to go?" I ask as the rest my arms over my belly.
"Yup." Kona says and jumps off the couch.
---
We reach the hospital and walk into the waiting room.
Kona walks up to the front desk and talks to the women about bringing him home.
"He'll be brought out shortly." She says with a smile.
She thanks her and walks back to Luke and I sitting in a couple of cheap hospital chairs.
"I cannot wait to get this baby out." I groan as my little girl begins kicking.
"Be careful what you wish for." Luke chuckles as he places his hand on my belly.
"I still have at least three or four weeks left." I say and roll my eyes.
"Not everyone has their baby on their due date." He informs me.
"Yes, yes, I know."
Just as Luke was about to respond, Ashton is brought out in a wheel chair.
"Ashton!" Kona gasps and runs to him.
He has a couple bruises on his face and a cast on his left leg.
"Hey guys." He says with a weak smile.
"Are you feeling alright?" I ask.
"Yeah, better than what I was a couple days ago." He chuckles.
"Well let's get you home." Kona says and pushes him out of the hospital.
---
We arrived home and Kona is caring for Ashton like a baby. He's sitting on the couch with his foot propped up on the coffee table.
"Kona, I'm fine." He mutters.
"I know. But I feel so guilty, like its my fault your hurt." She sighs and rests her head on his chest.
"It's ok. I'll be fine. I don't need my left leg for anything special anyways." He shrugs.
She giggles as they start talking about something different.
I sit next to Luke on our other sofa and lean my head against his shoulder. Lately, I've been quite moody and I'm very anxious. I'm very scared about taking care of the baby.
I have little to no idea what I'm doing. But I'll be here for a month or two after our little girl arrives. My mom said that she'd be happy to help.
And Luke's mom will probably help me out a little. I'm just nervous.
"What does everyone want for dinner?" Mom asks.
"I don't care." I shrug.
"Pizza!" Ashton and Luke exclaim.
"I'll call, give me a second." She replies with a giggle.
I let out a little sigh as I snuggle myself against Luke.
