'Then promise yourself... that you won't do it anymore.'
***
Thud!!!
Someone's words echoed in his head, including the hug, the promise, and the face that supported him by his side through the cycle of depression. Two large hands pushed away the smaller figure, causing the other to fall on the ground.
'Sorry,' the light-colored eyes widened at his own doing. A look of disappointment appeared on the faces of the person expecting.
'Why...' the person on the ground muttered until his voice cracked. He averted his gaze to the floor, pressing his lips together, 'for what reason...'
'We can't go back to making the same mistakes,' he sounded like he was defeated, 'New's sorry.'
Jin silently stared at his face. Various emotions, various feelings swirled within those eyes... as he became the one getting rejected.
It was as if the inside of his chest was squeezed tightly, he was suffocated.
He felt like he was being slapped on the face. He looked disappointed, confusion whirled inside the dark orbs, until he realized... when the next sentence came out.
'New won't make a mistake again.'
His voice was all firm.
'Really can't...'
'When Jin rejected New, New was hurt like this, right?' the response silenced the one pushing away. He looked at his ex, who pounded his left chest with his fist, 'right...'
He knew... that Jin was hurt by receiving such a response, and knew how much it hurt to be rejected.
But in the end...
'Stop contacting each other... okay?' it was New's plea, 'from now on, New will consider everything about us ends here. We have nothing we owe anymore. All that happened many years ago, all the lingering feelings in my heart...'
Put a rest to everything.
Jin neither agreed nor replied, only looking up with tears overflowing from his eyes.
'From now on, if Jin sends a chat, New won't answer anymore,' he said softly, yet it penetrated deep into the chest of the former lover, 'we shall stop contacting each other...'
New smiled one last time to the man in front of him.
'And do what's supposed to be done.'
..
Light-colored eyes opened sluggishly, slightly frowning at the sunlight that penetrated through the curtain net, hurting the eyes. Dizziness struck so hard his head spun. The tall figure groggily put down his feet and sat on the bed.
This... was New's room.
He looked down at his palm... That night, New 'pushed' Jin away with all his might. Even the lips just an inch away, he couldn't touch them because his promise with someone brought him back to his senses.
New... would not go back and make mistakes again.
He missed the last chance to touch him, something his heart had been yearning all along ever since he separated from his beloved. Determined to restrain his feelings, being the one who ended everything as it should be...
