In Between Lovers

Part 1

Wan- Li POV

(March 2,2013 9:30 am)

Today's finally upon us as I get ready for the most significant part of my life...My career... I cannot believe the auditions for "The Stars Align" are already here. I am both ecstatic and overwhelmed. Why ecstatic... this is my first time... well acting of course.... Why overwhelmed, ... I have not rehearsed all my lines... But nonetheless, I am confident.... Finally, they shall know the scrawny sexy genius of Wan-Li Sakaishi, a 23-year-old, even though I act like I am a 17-year-old prom queen, finally getting the recognition that she rightfully deserved. I raced through my room, trying to find the perfect outfit... "Remember that first impressions are always the best." I told myself, looking at what looks good on me.

Finally, this is the outfit. A red and black striped shirt with a pair of white jeans and my black boot heels that I wore for Halloween. I cleaned my room, grabbed my car keys, and said goodbye to Omma, as she wished me good luck.

I finally got to the studio, and I was able to remember the last few lines. Shit... shit.... shit... ugh. Why did the anxiety kick up? Why is my heart beating so quickly? Like... excuse me bitch, I did not run 3 miles. Why does my heart sink to the bottom of the ocean? You know... just like the one scene in Titanic, where Rose dropped the necklace that Jack gave to her right before he died.... The only difference is that my heart was swapped out for the necklace. Wait no, do not be like that. Remember first impressions... Anyways, I shook it off and that is when the casting director said "we are taking actors in pairs... so Juno and Wan-Li... you guys will be last..."

"Ok. Yes ma'am." We both said once we understood what she was telling us. I walked towards the smaller boy, and I asked if he wanted to rehearse with me. He nodded as I placed myself next to him.

"Saranghae, Asai. Museun il-i iss-eodo."

"Nado saranghae, Ko."

"Whoa. You are good. Oh, my name is Wan-Li Sakaishi. What is your name?" I said, exaggerating towards the smaller boy.

"My name is Juno Waisho, but call me Juno."

"Hi Juno. Nice to meet you. Is this your first time acting?"

"Y-yea. My cousin inspired me. But she died and now I am living not only her dream, but our dream. Anyways, her best friend works here, so he hooked me up."

"Whoa, cool... anyways I am so sorry for your loss... BTW, it is my first acting job... but my friend helped me get the chance to audition... I used to act when I was younger, and some girl made fun of me and called me gay. Well, I am gay but still—harsh man, right."

Juno snickered a bit before he was able to respond—

"Yea it is harsh. It's crazy how people would call you out like that."

"Yea. It's a long story but my closest friend in college at the time always would play around sometimes and tease me because we are friends, and she does that with me. So, one day I came out to her—I told her that I was gay. Sometime later that day, I was in a relationship with a guy, but we had always kept it to us. On weekends I would hang out with him instead of my friend. So as revenge, she spread a rumor that I made out with this guy, {like sex and all} and she shut me out—even told my Appa. Let's just say my Appa never supported me and he said it was a choice I-It was never a part of me.'' I told Juno while holding back my tears.
