Stars are like people, you don't always see them, but they are always there. And laying here, makes me realize that I'm just a small little speck in the stars eyes, just a small speck in the cosmos of people and life. We still don't know if there are other planets out there with life, but that would an amazing discovery. I've always been interested in space, aliens and the universe, but I've never really thought that maybe, just maybe someone on a distant place was looking right up at their sky, just like me. Some stupid teenage alien, Fiddling with a locket. My fingers run over the cold red gem of my locket as I look up at fading and brightening stars. I always giggle when someone mentions stars at school because my last name is Starr. Jenna Starr. The californian night air moves across my face and the grass I lay on, its nice. Its so peaceful to listen to sounds of nothing, just nature around you, and to stare up at the never ending space above.
I sit up and look around my small yard. The shadows moved slightly with every flash of light by a cars headlights passing by. An old tire that my Father had tied to a branch when I was a little girl, softly moved in the small wind. I look up once again and realize, I lost track of time, and it must be late, seeing as the sunset sky of seeming meer minutes ago has faded into a dark, layering world of blues and purples. With the stars still watching, I head inside where my mother is sipping coffee in the kitchen.
As I shut the sliding glass door to the backyard, my mother's soft and kind voice speaks out to me."Jenna, Dear, Have you done your homework yet?" She asked me and took another sip from her caffeinated drink. "I mean, It is nearly 10 o' clock. And also, you're Father left you something before he left for work, upstairs in your room."I look at her, my green eyes meeting my moms dark brown ones. I reply with a simple sentence."Of course! I did it when I got home. But besides my homework, he left me something?" All she did was nod and take another sip of coffee, reading over her notes for reviews. I leave her to her work and head up the soft carpeted stairs and think to myself, as I usually do. My mother, Lydia, is a review writer for my Father's company. A video game company to be exact. My father is a creative man, always coming up with new ideas for games, second games for old ones. He's always in his office sketching up ideas, he makes the game, I test them, my mother talks to me about the game and then writes a review on it and how many hits it gets from across the nation.
I push open my bedroom door and look around, seeing as my lights were off. I flick my light switch and my pink lanterns light up the room with a faint blush pink glow. THere's a small box on my bed. I walk over, kicking off my flip-flops as I do and pick up the slick sided pack. Its a new game my dad was working on. I ran my hand over the side of the case and looked at the cover. Apocalyptic world, cute boy, tiny little demon girl? THis game already looks interesting. But the title is what hooks me the most, it's called 'Lunar Entity'. And if you were paying attention before, I'm all about space. I look at the back description and contently read it.
Lunar Entity is a dark style adventure game that takes you to Lunar 6, an Alien planet in which has just went through an Apocalypse. Aaron Skie, a teenage boy runs through the city, fighting off monsters and dark souls with you behind him. You must connect the dots of Aarons dark past and help him find the thing he's always been looking for in this First person viewable game.
My mouth forms into a smile, and I already love the sound of this game. But seeing as it was so late, and it being a school night, I would have to wait to play it till tomorrow. I get up and change into comfortable boy shorts and a tanktop, then crawl back into bed, setting my alarm clock. I'll come home from school and and play it, but for now, I'm going to drift off into the cosmos.
