1. Am I Dead?

The cold night air is making it so hard to breathe...But I can't stop now....not if I want to save myself. The unfamiliar muddy trail is already coming to an end and with these dense trees around, I don't even know which way to go anymore....

I slowed down and looked back, only to see my pursuers vanish into thin air.

" W-What!!? *huff* where did they go?? " I came to a stop, right in the middle of a terrifyingly dense forest. I know I have to get out of here as fast as I can...but I don't know how!?

I turned back towards the trail, only to find my canine pursuers right in front of me...

Shock and surprise led to an uncontrollable fear. My breath got hitched in my throat. I knew this was gonna be my last day in this Earth. All I could see was the murderous look in their eyes and their sharp canines, illuminated by the soft glow of the blood moon, ready to tear my flesh apart into pieces.

I never knew that trekking alone in this forest would lead me to this moment of my life.

"I swear I'll never go trekking alone again in my life." I mumbled to myself. As the seconds passed by, the wolves in front of me started coming closer. I don't know what I did in my life to deserve this.

I was so scared that I didn't even move an inch. But as soon as I saw them advancing, I took a step back.

This was the worst decision I ever took in my life. As soon as I started backing away, they pounced on me!

Everything happened in slow motion after that. I tightly closed my eyes, ready to be eaten alive, until I felt an uncontrolled energy coursing through my veins. My whole body became hot. I felt a sharp pain in my chest and everything went black after that....

"Am I dead now?? Is it Heaven?? Its so serene here...But why do I feel so tired and why is my body aching so much?...Does it mean I'm in Hell now?"

All kind of thoughts were invading my mind. I slowly opened my eyes, only to come face-to-face with a pair of beautiful shimmering blue ones.

Although shocked and stunned, I'm more mesmerized by them. I don't want to look away anymore. I just want to get lost in this beautiful abyss.

"You should give her some space, Your Majesty." This surely broke my trance. Only then I'm able to notice that the eyes I was admiring a minute ago, belong to none other than..

" A Wolf!!! " I practically screamed into its ear, before scrambling to get out from under it. I tried to move away from the white beast as far as possible only to notice the inevitable.

Not one or two, but nearly a twenty wolves were surrounding me, all of different sizes and colors; black, grey, brown ; some big and some small....and in the middle of it stands mightily the one furnished with the most pure white fur I've ever seen in my life..

It was clear from their huge sizes, that these beasts are completely different from the ones I had encountered before. They sure were wolves but not normal ones.

I picked up the nearest object I could find and tried my best to scare them off by shoving it in front of them.
"D-Don't come near me!!"

I know its useless but the hope of life that single stick is providing, is enough for me to not loose my senses again!

"You should keep that down miss."

I turned towards the voice with anticipation, only to find another one of their kind advancing in a casual manner.

I am more shocked than scared now.
What in the world did I just experience now!?? Did I just hear a wolf speak!?

I don't know what to do anymore. I slowly lost the grip with which I was clutching the stick and it fell to the barren earth with a thud.

I sat there, clutching my head with both hands, ignoring all the non human stares..

"Don't worry Kiara, its just an illusion okay! Talking wolves don't exist! You are just dreaming. You'll snap out of it in a few seconds " I tried my best to console myself but to vain. I was definitely not ready for this.

Ignoring my situation, the wolf spoke again,
"At last!! The day of glory has arrived!! Behold our savior!! The Moon child!! ".....
