Greig waited for the school bell ever more impatiently, his right knee bouncing like it was about to hammer a hole in the concrete underneath him. Football practice had been cancelled due to severe weather. He doesn't mind though because he has a hookup planed for the evening. Bianca Alstead was a by all accounts not the typical hook up though. She keeps mostly to herself sense her younger brother Milton killed himself.
He had wanted to join the football team last year so like with all the new kids on the team he was put through the hazing. The seniors made the newbies get specific girls in school drunk until they passed out, then had to film them selves having sex with the passed-out girls. Milton was a soft-hearted kid and couldn't do it. Not only did he chicken out, but he told the girl what the seniors were doing.
Greig and the rest of the seniors made life hell for Milton after that, Putting dead rats in his locker. Hitting him extra hard on the field. One day they even broke his leg. That injury finally got him off the team after that they kept up the assaults even jumping him in the locker room just two days before he took his life. The little runt never even said a word to his folks he just took the beating. His head scalp got split open when Rodrick their quarterback hit Milton with a baton, he took from his dad's police car.
Finally, the bell rang almost leaping from his chair he didn't even stop to put his backpack away in his locker. He couldn't wait until his date with Bianca the last girl had been terrible in bed having still been a virgin, she had no clue what to do, she cried for an hour after they were done. He hated crying chicks it ruined the mood. Greig made his way through the student parking lot zig zagging like he was racing around invisible linebackers.
Clouds of a deep charcoal color fill the sky as far as the eye can see. With the wind picking up he needed to get home before the roads got bad, so he picked up his speed. The clouds were so low it felt like Grieg could reach up touch them.
He finally reached his car at the edge of the lot, he always parked further away so he forced himself to put in more exercise to keep his weight consistent. He jumped into the 2006 Honda civic, it looked perfect with chrome window tint. As he was about to start the car, he noticed some small ball like object sitting on the dash just above the steering wheel.
"What the hell."
A sharp pain in is rectum made him jump upward, he tried to get out of his car, but the doors were locked. He tried to force the door, unable to do so he went for his phone to dial 911. The pain was spreading into his gut which was expanding making it harder to breath.
"911 what's your emergency?" the ladies voice was calm then became concerned when he began wheezing, then crying uncontrollably. Just before he was about to pass out his stomach exploded onto the dashboard and windshield. Thirty feet away in the woods stands a shadow that disappears like a ghost in the wind. The police find Greig's body in his car an hour later. His intestines look stretched and bloated with sections of it being blown open. Bits of his lunch are siting in his lap pizza.
His body is packed up into a body bag and taken to the coroner's office for autopsy. Joselin Rosario began the long process of noting all the young man's injuries. "Joselin Rosario on the autopsy of Greig Herold. The victim is seventeen well developed. From what I can see someone forced a two-inch-thick cylinder up the rectum that then was used to force co2 into his body."
After finishing her report which took three days, just to make sure she was right about the co2 she placed it on the desk of police Sargent Denis Marko. Joselin had seen some horrific things, but this took the cake. "Denis whoever did this really hated this kid."
Denis a thirty-six-year veteran on the force looked up from his computer screen to take in the coroner. Her hair was matted on one side from sleeping at her desk. Her makeup make trials down her cheeks and the bags under her eyes show just how hard it was for her to do the autopsy. "You look like your hell," he said as he stood to give a seat. "I'll get you some coffee."
Denis came back after a few minutes with her favorite mug in the office. It said simply, "coffee is king." Sargent Marko looked pretty good for being he just hit sixty. Taking a long sip of what they both considered to be life's nectar Marko couldn't help but feel bad the good doc. Her son was only dead a year and now she had to autopsy another teenager, its enough to make anyone's nerves come unglued.
"I know it's tough seeing another kid on the table, especially in such horrid circumstances. I don't want you to overdo it maybe let someone else deal with this case. You have several other qualified members in your staff that can take over."
"No, I want to make sure this kid gets justice for happened to him."
"Alright sense to won't let it go then maybe you and Bianca can come for dinner this weekend blow of some steam on the farm. I'll even cook us up some dinner."
"You've been so kind to us sense Milton died. Ok we'll be their make sure to have plenty of wine handy possibly a case of tissues." With that Joselin rose to her tired sore feet, kissed Marko on the cheek and headed for home. She needed a bath, big glass of wine perhaps she would even stop and get some Chinese food on the way home. It was Milton's favorite, and it was after all the March 2nd the anniversary of his death. Maybe that had been why this case in addition to the victim being a teenager was hard for her to process.
