IT WAS THE NEXT day, when Parker heard the soft knock on his door. Letting go of his sleeping mother's hand, he got up to open the door.

Fiona stood there, carrying a bag, a huge one, and smiling big.

He never saw her smiling that big.

PARKER : Hey, what's up?

FIONA : I came to visit your mom. Is she busy?

PARKER : No she is asleep, come in.

Fiona walked inside his house, and immediately went to Diane's room, where she lay there, sound asleep.

FIONA : I brought some food so we could all eat together.

Parker immediately broke out into an amused smile. Was this her way of regaining his trust?

Because it certainly was working.

But obviously he wouldn't let her know.

DIANE : I heard someone come in.

Diane's voice was low and deep, clearly she was in pain, and she decided to keep her eyes closed.

PARKER : Yeah mom, it's Fiona.

FIONA : Hi Diane.

DIANE : Oh, Fiona, how are you darling?

FIONA : I am pretty good. How are you doing?

DIANE : I've been better. Now Fiona, is it really true that you broke my son's heart?

PARKER : (voice sounding hesitant and warning) Mom-

FIONA : Uh. . .

DIANE : (laughing slightly and then groaning in pain) I am just messing with you Fiona. Now are you here to just talk to me or are you here to hog my son?

PARKER : (eyes wide) Mom! Stop embarrassing me!

FIONA : (laughing loudly) No, Diane. I am certainly here to just talk to you. I brought some food. Would you like to eat?

DIANE : Of course. (looking at Parker) Go bring some plates for your mother and girlfriend.

Parker rolls his eyes, too tired to argue anymore.

Fiona follows his to the small kitchen of theirs, and Parker grabs three plates, Fiona starts assembling the sandwiches on them.

PARKER : Mom's allergic to onions.

FIONA : I hate onions. We are the perfect match.

PARKER : And, um, (noticing the shrimp sandwich being served on his plate) I am allergic to shrimp.

FIONA : (staring at him for sometime) Great! More for me.

Parker chuckles under his breathe and they both head to Diane's bed.

FIONA : Now Diane, tell me, how has your son lived on a beach and never tasted shrimp?

DIANE : (smiling) I don't really know. Enlighten us Parker.

PARKER : The fact that shrimp makes my throat ache and my body itch, is enough for me to start hating that thing.

FIONA : Shrimps are my favorite.

PARKER : (trying to hide a needless smile) Yay you.

Fiona has been in their house for about an hour now, when Parker hears soft knocks on his door again.

He opens the door to reveal Finn.

What the hell?

FINN : Fiona texted me that she was here to visit your sick mom. Thought I'd come by too.

They text? Was the first thought of Parker's

Parker stood there giving Finn an doubtful look.

FINN : (looking uneasy) Can I come in?

PARKER : Where's Liana?

FINN : She dumped me. Why?

PARKER : (looking furious now) No reason. Come in.

Finn got inside the house and immediately took a seat next to Fiona. Where Parker had been sitting before.

FIONA : (hugging Finn) Finn! What are you doing here?

The fact that Finn's sight made her so happy, made Parker's skin burn. And the fact that her skin was touching his made his nose flare like a mad man.

FINN : Was just passing by, thought I'd come by.

PARKER : Don't you have a night shift today?

FINN : I was excused.

Parker felt like slamming Finn's head with the wall's of his house. If Finn didn't leave his house in a minute, he might even be tempted to do so.

FINN : So, Fiona, are we still on for that date tomorrow?

Both Parker and Diane raised their eyebrows.

FIONA : (looking uncertain) Date?

FINN : A friendly date. Same thing.

FIONA : Uh, sorry Finn, I have plans with Parker tomorrow.

Saying that she looked at Parker, hoping he wouldn't mind that she just fixed a date with him without asking.

PARKER : Yes, Finnegan. We have a date tomorrow.

FINN : Ew, don't call me that. It's not even my name.

PARKER : (muttering) That's not what your employee file said.

-

When Finn finally left the house (the manager called and wasn't too happy that he bailed out of the night shift without informing) Fiona thought it was time for her to leave too.

FIONA : I hope you're not too mad about the fact that I planned a date without asking you first.

Parker hated how formal and distant she had become.

But it was his doing after all.

PARKER : Of course not. What time tomorrow?

FIONA : I was thinking at two? Two in the afternoon? Would it be fine with you Diane?

DIANE : Of course!

PARKER : But I'll have to start work again from tomorrow.

FIONA : I know. But two is your lunch time right? We'll go shopping then. I think we'll be done by half an hour.

PARKER : Shopping?

FIONA : (grinning) Shopping.
