Chapter 2

Ren body ached in pain from slamming into the wall. He jumps up to his feet and see the creature charging at him, it let out a hallowed scream and slashed at him. Feeling his body trembled his fear, the creatures claws made contact with his skin cutting him deep and hard. Ren release a healing spelled and the wound healed fast.

He took a deep breath, and swung the sword at the middle of the creature with one slash it was killed. It exploded into silver dust. "I will never get used to that." He saw his sword melt slowly into the bracelet again in his hands. He placed it back on his wrist, he let out a groan, and grabbed his back pack.

He started walking home his house was a few blocks away from the college, he bought it after his and Aris break up. He felt his phone vibrated as someone was calling him. Ren checked it. Her name appeared, he picked up with a swallow.

"Hello?" He mumbled feeling the anxiety boil from the anticipation of hearing her voice.

"Hi sweetheart I know it has been a while but I'm in a bad place and I need help." Her preppy voice rang as he processed what she said.

"No don't call me 'sweetheart' and why the fuck should I help you?" He asked getting annoyed. He looked at his dirty and ripped clothing. He needed a shower asap.

Ren heard Ari let out a sigh, "I can't afford rent anymore my boyfriend spent the money on dumb shit so can I borrow 5,000 bucks?"

"Dumb shit like the drugs you left in my apartment? Fucking acid papers, shrooms, and fucking a tiny ass bag of coke?" He felt the anger boil. Ari has fallen into a bad crowd while in college.

"You kept weird shit that invoked your witchcraft, Ren please, this is the last time I'll ask for anything." She sounded desperate.

"Fine sleep with me one more time." He made his final offer. He wanted to make her feel like a slut, if she wanted the money she had to work for it.

"Fine! I'll do it." She shouted. Ren reasoned it was okay to ask for sex because the possibility of her using it for drugs is high and it's normal for a cheater also.

"Okay I'll send you the location bye." Ren hung up before she could respond. He sent her the address to a cheep motel. With the text, meet you at 9:00pm. He placed his phone in his pocket, by now he has made it to his house. He opened the front door greeted by his devil hound puppy. He had gotten him after the break up with Ari, Ren named the dog hallow. Ren greeted Hallow, with a gentle pat he continued walking and made his way to living room.

He had a little bar table, he poured himself a glass of whiskey. Feeling the slowly burn down his throat. Hallow walded up to him. Ren looked at the dog and then down at his clothes. "I'm sorry your dad is a mess." He slowly pet him.

'What am I going to do..' he had pondered to himself.
