Third person this time. Why not?
Tony Stark just wanted a break. Was that too much to ask?
After the Battle with Ultron, he wanted to stay away from the whole superhero thing for at least a few weeks. A month or two would have been preferable. Sadly, life (also known as Fury) had other plans. To say he was unhappy when he was summoned to the Avenger Compound to find an 18-year-old was too large an understatement for the average mortal brain to understand.
"Fury, this kid is important?" Tony asked, pacing, staring at the holographic screen Nick had pulled up of a teenager with green eyes.
"Because he's missing, and we need you to find him before anything else blows up. Look at this." Fury said in a slow voice like Tony was a toddler. He tossed Tony a file, Tony caught it easily. He opened it looking at the contents. It was a strange file, Tony agreed. Multiple explosions, property damages, missing eras, schools he's been expelled from, and even one fake death mishap. But he still didn't understand why this was his problem.
"Why don't you ask Natasha or Cap? I'm sure one of them would do it. Besides, this sounds like a job for an agent of a lower rank than me. I'm Iron Man for god's sake."
"We have. They couldn't find anything about this kid, except this." The holographic screen played him beating up a cheerleader with a baseball bat on a sidewalk. Then a blonde girl jumped out of nowhere and stabbed the cheerleader with a long kitchen knife. She died, her body... disappearing? Then another girl who had watched them thrust her hands out like she was a zombie, and the boy collapsed. Then, the boy standing next to the zombie girl, who I could see even in the security camera footage looked like a model, tried to punch the blonde girl but she judo-flipped him and stabbed him with her sword. The blonde girl then tried to stab girl 2, but she ran toward the green-eyed boy. They both disappeared, and the other boy right afterward. The blonde girl started crying frustrated tears, yelled to the sky in an unidentifiable language, and ran off.
"Who's zombie girl and blonde girl?" Tony asked, looking at the empty sidewalk. He rewinded the footage and looked at their faces closer. Zombie girl had long blonde hair and brown eyes with gold flecks. She looked like a kid who did professional beauty pageants. The other girl was pretty too, with her blonde hair in a ponytail and grey eyes like a storm cloud. She was muscular and tall, with a pair of ripped jeans and an orange shirt that read something Tony couldn't make out.
Fury looked confused for a second before realizing what he meant. "Sophie Foster, who died at age 12 along with her whole family in a freak fire. Sophie is buried in a San Francisco cemetery next to her sister, parents, and cat. She hasn't been seen since her abnormal death, for what used to be obvious reasons. The other girl, Annabeth Chase, ran away from her home in Virginia at seven. She was wanted for years as a missing child before returning randomly at 12. She then disappeared again at 16 for a year and returned home. We have no records on the blonde boy, but at some point during the battle we think Sophie speaks in an unidentifiable language to him, meaning he's probably not from the U.S. You can see why this is strange, right? A much of teenagers with battle training and superpowers?" Fury asked, pacing.
"So you're saying I'm trying to find an alive dead magic zombie model girl, a girl who ran away at seven and who can really use a knife, a boy who doesn't exist and loves Batman, and a boy that blew up the arch and has freaky eyes? So much for my vacation." Tony summed up, looking tired. "How about the cheerleader?"
"No Idea. We couldn't get a clear shot of her face, we can't identify her," Fury looked at Tony. "You think you can find them? This is too big of a deal for a normal agent." Tony sighed dramatically and sat down on a chair.
"Who's on my team?" He asked. Fury smiled.
"I knew you'd accept. Dr. Banner is too busy, Clint is too retired, Peter is too young, and Thor- well, I haven't contacted Thor. At the moment it's you, Steve, and Natasha. Ready?"
"I don't see much of a choice."
"Good. See you three at six tomorrow morning. Don't be late."
Short chapter, I know. Sorry <3 (804 words).
Question of the Chapter: Do you put water on your toothbrush before or after you put on the toothpaste? Do you put water on your toothbrush at all? Do you brush your teeth with a toothbrush?
