hazel
my eyes were fixed on my hands as they smoothed out my black dress. i watched them in the mirror, running down my torso to my upper thighs and pulling the material down.
"hazel!" aaliyah yelled from downstairs.
"yeah?" i shouted back.
"hurry up! i'm gonna leave without you!"
rolling my eyes, i grabbed my purse, opening it and looking through it quickly to make sure i had everything.
"coming!" i yelled back, grabbing my phone and making my way downstairs.
"you better not leave without me, bitch." i said, reaching the bottom of the staircase.
"if your slow ass took any longer, i would have." she lifted her vape to her mouth and took a hit.
"you act like we're gonna be late or something. haven't you heard kesha? the party doesn't start until we walk in." i winked.
she sneered and blew the cloud in my face. i laughed and snatched the vape from her hand, taking a hit myself.
"then let's make our party start earlier." she looped her arm through mine and dragged me to the door.
"you and your 'never be late' thing will never fail at making me laugh." i snickered as i got into the car.
"yeah, yeah." she rolled her eyes, starting the car.
"you think there's gonna be any hot people at this party." she giggled, wiggling her shoulders.
"bitch, i don't give a fuck if my soulmate is there! i just wanna get fucking wasted!" i exclaimed.
"me too!" she loudly laughed.
we laughed for a bit and then it went quiet.
"do you think dylan's gonna be there?" i asked, biting my fingernail.
she glared at me and sighed.
"haze, you need to stop worrying about about him."
"i know! it's just... i don't know...i still...kinda miss him?"
"no! you don't need to! he was an asshole!"
aaliyah was right. dylan was a huge asshole. he was a huge hypocrite and tried the gaslight me a couple times.
"yeah, your right. i just can't tell if i want to see him or am hoping he won't be there. ugh, give me your pen. i'm annoyingly sober right now."
she snickered and reached into her bag, pulling out her weed pen.
i took a big hit and swallowed it.
i shook my head as i exhaled the smoke.
"forget getting wasted. you need to meet someone! someone who will help you forget about dylan."
i rolled my eyes and crossed my arms.
" you're only staying quiet because you know i'm right."
"yeah, yeah. think what you want." i said rolling my eyes again.
she only laughed.
after awhile we pulled up to the party.
i exhaled shakily before opening my door. i was nervous. what the hell for?
i needed a drink.
aaliyah looped her arm through mine as we walked through the front door.
"i need a drink, babe." i said, looking at her.
"ok, we can check out some of the people on the way there."
i chuckled, shaking my head.
aaliyah was such a hopeless romantic. everywhere she went she looked for opportunities to get with someone and fall in love.
she reminded me of lottie from princess and the frog. always dreaming of finding her perfect person, kissing them, and falling in love.
i wanted to fall in love to, but i wasn't as crazy about as she was.
i hadn't had the best past with relationships and was always scared to make myself vulnerable to said person.
"ooo, what about her?" aaliyah said, pointing to a girl who was leaning up against a wall, talking to another girl with a red solo cup in her hand.
she had curly brown hair and brown eyes. she was shorter but had a curvy build. and she was pretty. really freaking pretty.
"maybe," i shrugged, "but i think i'm gonna need a drink to talk to her." i laughed, looking over at aaliyah who was smiling at me already.
"what about him?" she pointed over to a guy with curly blonde hair, pouring a drink and handing it to a girl.
"he's very hot, but i'm not to sure about the girl he's pouring a drink for."
"yeah, but it wouldn't hurt to talk to him and find out." aaliyah shrugged.
we walked over to the where the drinks where and poured ourselves some vodka.
i tried to steal a couple glances from the blonde kid aaliyah had pointed at but it was not working.
he was in a conversation with the girl he poured the drink for.
ok, so maybe i should shoot my shot with the brunette we saw first.
i scanned the room, sipping out of my cup, looking for someone i found attractive.
i thought i felt my heart stop when my eyes landed on someone that looked too familiar.
i gave a sigh of relief when i realized i was wrong.
i though i saw dylan.
i looked at the boy i though had a close resemblance to him.
he had brown hair with a middle part. his ears were pierced and he had ransom hoodie on.
but his face... it was different from dylan.
dylan had brown eyes and his face was painted with freckles. but this kid had almost clear skin. he had some slight acne but overall a smooth face. no freckles.
but instead of brown eyes had had blue ones. bright, big blue eyes.
he was hot.
"what about him?" i asked, tapping aaliyah on the shoulder and pointing to the boy i was looking at.
"are you fucking serious?"
"what?" i furrowed my eyebrows as she was glaring at me.
"don't play dumb, you know what."
i didn't say anything. she sighed and rolled her eyes.
"he looks like dylan."
"oh! what a coincidence!" i stated as fake as i could.
she shook her head and dragged me into another room.
we continued drinking. we danced a little but after that it turned into a blur.
and when i say a blur, i mean a blackout.
i don't remember shit.
