"Ahhh, I love the first day of school. Isn't it exciting?" the stick figure sighed to himself, sitting on top of his desk to admire the beauty of his hard work.
The morning sun shone through the window of Yellow Cary's classroom. Everything from the books to the markers were in their places. The desks, floor, and board were so polished that anyone who walked in could use them as mirrors.
Of course, he meticulously planned all of this. The second his students left for the summer, Cary took out a notebook and started writing down ideas for the next school year. He started preparing the classroom weeks before the first day. Other teachers at Wisdom High constantly checked on him to make sure he was okay. They knew he overworked himself day after day, but he didn't want to admit it. They still never left him alone.
Most people forgot about work during the summer. Cary did the complete opposite. Even when he was on vacation, walking around, or sitting in his house (most likely making silly little videos), his mind always came back to school.
Before he could dream for any longer, loud stomps echoed through the hallway before stopping outside of the classroom door, shocking Cary out of his thoughts.
"It's almost time for the annoyances- I mean students to arrive," a stick figure (who looked exactly like Cary except for the orange head) grumbled, kicking the door open.
"You could have knocked or, ya know, opened the door like a normal person, Orange Cary," Yellow Cary suggested.
"I don't care, but- oh gosh why is everything so blinding," the orange stick figure remarked.
"I've been preparing, that's why!" Yellow Cary said with a childish grin on his face. "You know, because this is so exciting! Everything's exciting! I get to see everyone from last year, meet the ones joining this year, there's so many things to be excited about!"
"Ugh, you say the same thing every single time. Why are you so excited about everything?" Orange Cary asked, rolling his eyes.
"Maybe you need to be less angry all the time. Calm down!" Cary encouraged.
"How exactly do I calm down when my students hate me and my free time is gone?" Orange Cary checked outside the door. "Whatever. People are starting to arrive. I need some coffee."
"Ahh! Can't wait! So exciting!" Cary almost fell off of his desk, nearly knocking over the container of markers.
