One Chance

Charlies POV:

We all sat aboard the ship quietly, I think it was finally sinking in for all of us. What we are about to do, there is a good chance we wouldn't make it back. But I was okay with that, if it meant Steve got to live a full and happy life like the one we constantly dreamed of. It was okay because everyone in the universe would get to continue on and live normal lives, achieve all they set out too. But part of me regretted this, I would give anything to be in Steves arms right now. TO hear his voice.

I quickly shook my head. Now was not the time, I needed to focus so we can all get out of this alive...especially Peter. I look over to him and see him sitting with his head down lost in thought. I walk over to him, waning to make sure he was okay.

"How are you holding up Peter?" I asked him sitting next to him

"Im doing alright, i think its finally hitting me but ill be fine I was born for this" He said trying to sound confident. I laughed lightly

"You don't always have to sound brave Peter. We are all scared, I would be worried if you were" I told him honestly, he seemed to relax at this

"Your a great kid Peter, we will get through this. We have a strong team including you. Ill make sure nothing happens to you, I promise" I said putting my arm around Peter and pulling him into a side hug

"Thank you Charlie" He said seeming to be slightly less worried. Peter is such a smart selfless kid, he is going to go far in life. I wanted to make sure he gets to live his life to the fullest. After a few moments of silence, we both notice a planet coming into view.

"Hey, what's going on?" Peter says to Tony as we walk up

"I think we're here." I say connecting the dots

"I don't think this rig has a self-park function. Get your hand into this steering gimbal. Close those around it. You understand?" Tony says to me urgently

"got it." I respond quickly grabbing it

"This was meant for one big guy, so we gotta to move at the same time." Tony told me, i nodded to him understanding

"Ready." I state focusing up. I notice as does everyone else that we were going to crash into giant structures

"We might wanna turn. Turn! Turn! Turn!!" Peter yells to us but we end up clipping the structure. Tony and Peter put their armor on leaving me and strange in the open. I Brace for impact but am shocked when I see strange project a shield around us, I would have done it if I wasn't occupied with the steering. The ship crashes violently and plows through until it final stops.

We all were knocked off our feet for a moment. I stand up helping Peter up

"You okay?" I ask him assessing for any injuries

"Im good thank you" Peter responds brushing himself off

"Let me just say, if aliens wind up implanting eggs in my chest or something, and I eat one of you, I'm sorry." Peter says, confusing me. It must be another move

"I don't wanna hear another single pop culture out of you for the rest of the trip. You understand?" Tony states pointing at Peter

"I'm trying to say that... something is coming." Peter responds. Im suddenly on high alert, it could be Thanos. Before I could shout a plan a grenade rolls in sending us all in different directions, I quickly throw a shield around Peter to prevent further damage. I quickly got to my feet when I hear people enter

"THANOS!!!!" One yells as he flings a dagger at strange who easily blows it. His cloak quickly disables the man

"AH! Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! PLEASE DON'T PUT YOUR EGGS IN ME!" Peter yells, I quickly turn and run to him jumping onto the bug lady. Peter shoots a web at her pinning her arms to her side. Someone kicks peter and they fight while I secure the bug lady. When i see the man send peter flying I go in for an attack
