{Chapter 49}
Melinda woke up to her phone going off, making her glare at it before grabbing it. She snatched her phone from the nightstand and saw the name 'Emily' appear making her decline the call. She placed it back on the nightstand and rolled over as Aaron clutched her close to him. They were cuddled together before the phone went off again making Melinda groan in irritation. She snatched the phone and answered it.
"What?!" Melinda answered
Emily giggled, "Someone seems cranky. What's going on with you?"
"I'm tired." Melinda tells her
"From what?" Emily asked smirking
Aaron could see Melinda was about to say something rude so he took the phone from her. She turned her head to look at him curious of what he was going to do or say.
"We'll be at the club shortly, bye." Aaron tells Emily
Aaron hung up, leaving Emily on the other side with her jaw dropped, before he pulled his girlfriend to lay on his bare chest. Melinda laid her hand on his chest as she ran her fingers over the scars Foyet left on his torso.
"Do they hurt?" Melinda asked softly
"No. It's been a long time since then, but I am self conscious about them. I bet you are about this." Aaron tells her
He laid his hand on her stomach where a large scar went from under her breast to the top of her belly button. She laid her hand on top of his on her stomach as she looked at him with a sad expression.
"I am. It's a long story as to when I got this. I don't know if you want to hear it, so I'll shorten." Melinda tells him
"Ok." Aaron replied
"We were dealing with a woman who was trying to get rid of humans. She stabbed me with a sword." Melinda tells him
Aaron sat up and leaned against his arm as he leaned over her body. She looked down at the scar he had his hand covered before he lifted her chin to look at him.
"I bet it hurt." Aaron told her
"It did. I was nervous to fall in love again, thinking that whoever I fell for, they wouldn't like the scar." Melinda told him
Aaron rubbed her chin with his thumb making her smile as she saw the love in his eyes. He leaned in and kissed her as he laid over top of her as they made out. He pulled away and leaned his head against hers.
