"What the actual fuck do you think you're doing?"

It seems as if the whole school's eyes are on me as I approach my usual lunch table, including the only three decent people in this place, and it is amongst these people that I take my seat. They continue to stare, open mouthed while I begin to munch on my long awaited lunch. I opted to stick with a simple apple and ham sandwich today. I really have piled on the weight over Summer, which I suppose was expecting seeing as I did sit on my ass for approximately 95% of it, but even so-

"What the actual fuck do you think you're doing?"

My thoughts are rudely interrupted as Mae repeats her previous question, and her tone is no less demanding.

"I don't know what you're talking about. I'm eating my lunch."

Mae shares a look of disbelief with the others at the table, Ben and Amy, as I continue with my apparent nonchalance.

Ben is a really cool guy who I hit it off with on my first day here. He sat beside me during chemistry, despite my stony welcome which had scared so many other's off before him. His obvious good looks and charisma caused me to question his intentions even more so than I already had, but as soon as class began and he revealed himself as the science geek he was, all of my suspicions slipped away and I warmed to him immediately.

Amy is your typical sweetheart. She's amazingly kind and bubbly when you get to know her but isn't really great with new people. Our friendship began when I saved her from some immature asshats harassing her in the hallway, who she was too nice to tell to back off. I wasn't however, and they were gone soon after. We've been friends ever since.

Mae is a stubborn, loud and impatient firecracker, who after a heated debate over whether or not Shakespeare's Juliet was a feminist icon, or a spoilt brat (I stand by my claim of spoilt brat), suddenly announced, "I like you." And that was that.

Snapping out of my reminiscing, I address the situation at hand before Mae explodes.

"I'm joking calm down. It's just a party, which you are all invited to by the way."

"Just a party?" Amy questions, "You're serious? It's Zayn Malik's party we're talking about here, you are aware?"

"Of course I'm aware! That's what is so exciting." I smile.

"I don't like the sound of it." Ben admits, while the others nod their heads in agreement.

"Are you coming or not?" I ask.

Amy and Ben share a nervous glance, while Mae stares me down before they all affirm that they will not be attending. I'm not really surprised by their answers, and I assure, "Maybe some other time." Before finishing off my lunch and heading to my next class.

My eyes flit anxiously to the clock throughout the rest of the day, counting down the seconds until I'm released from this hell, and I can finally set my plan in motion.

I don't care what anyone says, I'm proving my point.

I get home at around five, after a monotonous trip in the regular stuffy school bus. The party doesn't start until seven, so that means that I've got two hours to prepare, and I am going to make the most of them.

I dig out my favourite pair of super skinny, ripped, black jeans, from underneath all of my new, boring pairs that I have acquired since moving here.

I pair them with a deep red, skin tight crop top and my old, beaten up pair of black converse.

I'm not usually a big fan of makeup, but tonight is a special occasion. After adding some dramatic winged eyeliner and a few swipes of mascara, I release my long brown hair from its usual ponytail and leave it to tumble over my shoulders in its natural waves.

For the first time in over a year, I feel like myself again, and I am ready to show the world the real me.

A/N: Guys I'm so sorry. I said that this chapter was going to be about the party but I thought that it was important to introduce some of the key people in Tara's life before all of the action kicks off. Anyways, hopefully you enjoyed this chapter, and I PROMISE that the next chapter will be packed full of party goodness. ILY ALL, please don't forget to vote and comment, any type of feedback would be hugely appreciated x :)
