Ben got home around five-thirty; the garage had been busy today; Ciara was still at work, so he showered and started making dinner.
Ben decided pasta would be something quick and easy to make; he also made a salad to go with it. When six o'clock rolled around, Ciara still wasn't home, so he called her.
"Hey, this is Ciara; leave me a message, and; I'll call you back.
"Hey, babe, just wondering what time you will be home. I love you."
When Ciara walked through the door, it was six forty. Ben was sitting on the couch watching tv. He stood up to greet her.
"Hey, baby, let me take that.
Ben grabbed her purse and bag and set them on the chair.
"I'm sorry I didn't call you back, I was so busy at work, and I still have more to finish tonight."
"You should be taking it easy; you're pregnant."
"I can't take it easy work is crazy, Philip messed everything up, and now I have to fix it for my grandfather."
"It shouldn't all be on you."
Ciara sat on the couch and took her shoes off.
"Why don't you; go shower, and I'll heat up some pasta for you."
"I'm not really in the mood for pasta."
"Okay, I'll make you something else; what would you like?"
"I'm not really hungry."
"You have to eat something; what are you craving?"
"I could go for a burger and fries."
"You hop in the shower, and I will go to the pub."
"Thank you, baby."
Ben grabbed his coat and keys, kissed Ciara, and left for the pub.
Ciara grabbed her robe and hopped in the shower. She let the hot water wash over her body and let out a content sigh.
Ciara got out of the shower, put her robe on, and walked to the living room. She grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and waited for Ben to; get back.
Ten minutes later, Ben came through the door with dinner.
"Hey babe, got your burger; sorry it took so long; the pub was busy."
"It's fine; let's eat."
Ben and Ciara sat at the table; Ben pulled the containers out and popped them open.
"No pickles, No onions; that one is yours," Ben said as he handed the container to her.
"Thank you, can I get you something to drink water, soda, beer?
"A beer would be great."
Ciara walked over to the fridge and pulled out the ketchup and a beer for Ben.
"Here you go, baby."
"Thank you, love."
They sat down and started eating.
"How is it?"
"So, good; thank you for going out and getting dinner."
"I'm sorry about the pasta and salad."
