‧˙· 𓆝.° 。˚𓆛˚。 °.𓆞 ·˙‧̍̊once they had had the previous day to settle in, it was time to begin teaching the children the ways of the water. firstly starting with just being in the water.
being from the forest the family hadn't had much experience with deep waters. unlike tsireya, ao'nung and ionia, who had been surrounded by it all their lives.
as the four (roxto, ao'nung's best friend had decided to tag along, by invite of ao'nung) arrived at the sully's mauri, tuk had immediately stood up and raced over to ionia, yelling her name out in happiness. tuk becoming more impatient as lo'ak took ages to appear.
ionia glanced towards kiri, nodding in her direction with a smile, to which kiri slightly returned. ionia didn't feel offended that kiri wasn't too enthusiastic. it was understandable; she'd basically been ripped away from her home and brought to a new one. but hopefully, she'd warm up to the ocean and those around her.
lastly, ionia glanced towards neteyam, who was already staring at her. she smiled at him, just like she did kiri, but he sheepishly smiled in embarrassment and looked down at his feet.
eventually, lo'ak had arrived, meaning the group could go forward which their plans. tsireya began explaining what they'd be learning today, ao'nung giving small pieces of input every so often, tuk and ionia at the front of the group.
ionia pointed forward and crouched slightly so tuk could hear her. "race you to that dock over there!" ionia whispered.
she let go of tuk's hand and ran off, she then turned back to look at the younger girl, who was slowly catching up to her. the others had eventually caught on and began following in a sprint to the dock.
ionia had made it first, diving gracefully into the water. her siblings and roxto then followed, a gentle wave forming from their bodies hitting the surface.
from under the blue tranquil water, they could see kiri and tuk grabbing onto each other and jumping in.
then followed lo'ak and neteyam who did a small run-up and a not-so-graceful jump into the water, creating a huge splash.
ionia had stayed behind to check they all got in safely, while the other three had swum off slightly down further into the water.
she giggled at the boys' antics, follow me. ionia signed. everyone looked at her with a confused glance. she shook her head with a small smile, signalling them to follow.
she turned around a swam swiftly, the forest na'vi struggling to keep up. ionia had managed to catch up with the other metkayina. roxto smiled at her, acknowledging her presence.
let's just say, roxto had been longing after ionia for a very long time. ever since roxto and ao'nung became friends he took an interest in her.
ao'nung loved roxto but hated him for seeing something in his sister. ao'nung even tried changing his friend's views of her, reminding him that she had different skin, hair, eyes, and markings. that she was different. but roxto was too infatuated with the girl, he couldn't care less.
as they turned to look back up at the sully children, they noticed they had all swam back up to the surface.
'what is wrong with them?' ao'nung seemed to be annoyed by the fact they couldn't swim like he or his sisters. he didn't like them in the first place, but this just pushed him even further.
'those guys are so bad at diving!' roxto signed back, ao'nung nodding with a smile.
ionia hit them both around the head, 'they are learning!' she told them, annoyance now coating her face at their straight-up rudeness.
