My name is Kaida Hisamaru, and today is my first day at Hope's Peak Highschool. You can only be invited to come to the high-school for elite students if you have a talent. I am the Super High-School Level (or SHSL for short), Unlucky Student. It's exactly what it seems. I've always had the worst luck. People consider it a talent to be so unlucky, though I see it more as a curse.
Somehow, despite my "talent", I was welcomed to the school of the elite. Getting into the school is basically a guarantee for success. Athletes, inventors, musicians, authors, anyone successful has most likely graduated from the school.
To this day I still question how I had the opportunity to go to such a place.
I stare at the front gates. I think to myself, my life is going to change forever! Little did I know, when I stepped through the golden gates, all I would find is endless despair.
As soon as I stepped inside the glamorous school, I started feeling lightheaded. I wish I was just dizzy from the excitement, but what I didn't know, is I was in for the most terrible ride of my life.
