"THANKS for helping me out this season, Laur." Troy and Laurie were in the garage, washing up Troy's truck.

"Yeah, it was really fun." Laurie smiled.

It had been a while since the championship game. Connor had turned fifteen, a bit ago, Laurie had officially gotten her license pretty much as soon as she could, and Troy had finally earned custody of his sister. Troy was now Lauren's legal guardian. Not only all that but, Connor and Laurie had put a label on it. After lots of consideration, Connor and Laurie had finally decided they wanted to be an official couple. And they were never happier with it.

"I'm glad you were around this summer, the whole football season. I just wanted to tell you how grateful I am that you're here." Troy said. Laurie smiled.

"You've done so much for me. You've given me a home, a family team I never thought I'd ever have. You saved my ass, Troy. I'll always be grateful for you." Laurie spoke. Troy pulled his sister in for a quick hug and then ruffled her hair to which she swatted him away.

"I thought since you have plans with lover boy Connor today, maybe you'd want to take the truck?" Troy spoke, dangling the keys in his hands.

"Really!? I can?" Laurie exclaimed, excitedly.

"Only if you promise not to crash, or drive to far or make stupid decisions." Troy shrugged.

"Oh my god, yes!" Laurie squealed, taking the keys. "Thank you. I will be so safe and so mature." Laurie grinned.

"You better. Text me updates once in a while if you're going to be staying out late." Troy smiled.

"You know it." Laurie smiled as she climbed into the truck.

Connor and Sean sat at a table next to the food truck they'd just ate from.
