It was the middle of the night. It has been 6 months since her ex-husband's widow showed up at her door.

"I know we are not friends but I need your help." Meredith said. She looked paler than usual. And very much pregnant. She wasn't sleeping much but that was understandable.

"Yeah, what do you need? Come in." She was holding her son and daughter's hand. They walked to her living room where Henry was watching a movie. "Would you like to join Henry, kids? He had just started the movie and we have enough popcorn." She smiled at the kids. They looked at their mother for permission.

"You can watch it together with Henry, if he is okay with it?" Then they looked at her son. Henry smiled and nodded at them. They were kids. They easily make friends. In their grown-up case, it wasn't that easy. Kids sat on the couch and started watching the film.

Addison looked at Meredith again.

"Do you want coffee or something else?" She looked like she was gonna faint.

"No, just we need to talk." She walked to her deck and sat on one of the chairs. Addison followed her.

"What's going on Meredith? I'm worried." She looked at the blonde who was circling her belly.

"You know, I have a hostile uterus."

"No, I didn't know."

"However my stupid husband was very successful impregnanting me at his first try." Addison felt uncomfortable. They were talking about late Derek Shepherd. "Then he died and left me alone with our kids and I left Seattle." Addison listened to Meredith carefully.

"I know. They are very worried about you. Alex even called me if I knew anything about you." She smiled and Meredith smiled too.

"That must be an interesting call. Doesn't matter, anyways." Meredith started looking at the ocean. "I was in San Diego. I couldn't breathe in Seattle. I know what I did but I couldn't do anything. I took the kids in the middle of the night and we drove there." She said in a breath. Her eyes started to tear up.

"You are welcome in my home but I'd like to ask you, what are you doing here?" She finally asked.

"I started bleeding and I know I am in a high-risk pregnancy. My OB in San Diego was useless. I know I can trust you and I know you can help me." She looked so desperate. Addison always liked Meredith. She was gonna help, of course. She held Meredith's hand.

"Of course, I'll help." They both smiled at each other.

"Please don't tell anyone, I am here. I don't have anything in me to face the world. I'm using all my energy for my kids. Please Addison."

"Of course Meredith. Whatever you need."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome. I'll ask Sam to look after the children then we can go to practice. Is that okay for you?"

"Yes." Addison walked to Sam's house, leaving Meredith at her deck.

She heard Ellis' crying. She was used to it. It has been 2 months since she birthed the little girl and for that 2 months she always gets hungry at night. She didn't have a problem with it. Henry was a baby once too. She got up and went to Meredith's room which was across from her. She found a wide awake little baby and a very much asleep Meredith. And Henry?... They were hugging each other. She took Ellis from her crib and went downstairs.

"Hey little girl, are you hungry?" She looked at the girl in her arms. "Oh, yes you are. Let's get your milk." She took one of the breast milk packages from the fridge and started heating. Ellis started to fuzz. "Hey, don't cry. If you cry your momma will be up and we don't want that. She needs sleep." She rocked the baby a little. Ellis immediately stopped crying and smiled at her. "Good girl." She put the milk in her bottle and sat on the sunbed.
