*Kate's POV*

"Kate! There's some mail for you!" My mom called from the kitchen. I stood from my comfortable spot on the couch and went to go get my mail. I sat at the kitchen table and looked through the mail stack. I found an envelope that had my name on it. It's from that contest my guitar teacher wanted me to enter. Probably just an "I'm sorry" letter because I'm not very good. I opened up anyway. "Congratulations!" What? "You've won! You will be touring with the band One Direction as their guitarist!" I froze. Is this a prank? It probably is. Cause seriously.... OH MY GOD. IT'S REAL. I WON! "MOM! DAD!" I screamed. They came running into the kitchen. "What is it sweetheart?" My dad asked. "I WON!" I said, jumping up and down with a huge smile on my face. "Congrats honey! I knew you would!!" My mom said, hugging me. "I can't believe it!" I said. "So what exactly did you win?" My dad asked. "It says I get to tour with some band called One Direction." I said. "Hmm, never heard of them." Said mom. "Me either. I'm going to look them up." I said, grabbing my laptop and opening up a new window. I googled the name and clicked on the first link that had an article. After reading it, I knew a lot more. Apparently, One Direction is a band of 5 boys, 4 are British and 1 is Irish. These 5 boys competed separately on the X-Factor, but were put together as a band and have become extremely popular. I clicked on another website that had more information. There was a picture of the boys. I swear, one of them look exactly like my old crush, Niall Horan. Under the picture was their names. Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan. Wait... What? Niall? In a band? Huh? I remember he went on the X-Factor.... Oh my god! Niall is in One Direction! I'm going to see Niall again! Looking at some of the pictures of him... I have to admit, he got hot. He has braces now and blonde hair. Oh my god... I don't think I ever stopped liking him....
