I was sat on the rugby AstroTurf floor, watching my team train from the side lines. Even though I couldn't play or train, I wanted to keep up to date with what they were doing, so that I was in the loop for when I recovered.
"And lift!" Ella shouted, as the girls were practicing their lineouts. I watched as the hooker threw the ball from the side line, the ball landing perfectly in Emma's hands.
"Yes girls!" She shouted, clapping as Emma was lifted back down by the girls supporting her from her thighs.
It was our usual Friday morning training session, there was something really refreshing about training in the early morning, outside, as other people were working or at university. The air was crisp but not cold, the sky cloudy white.
I hadn't seen the girls as much this week as I couldn't go to any strength and conditioning sessions. I couldn't lift any weights and I couldn't really train much else, other than walking on a treadmill or doing very light cardio. I had also missed this weeks Wednesday social, which I had never missed much in the past.
I had decided that I would just go to the gym in my free time instead, it gave me chance to clear my head and listen to music or a podcast, without constantly being reminded of my injury or watching the others beat their personal bests as I lagged behind.
As training was coming to an end, Imogen started skipping in my direction, bouncing off the floor with each skip and flinging her arms in the air. A few skips later, she tripped over the air and landed flat on her stomach, an 'oof' leaving her mouth as the wind was knocked out of her.
Mia, who was walking behind her, leant over as she held her stomach, laughing hard. I covered my mouth with my right hand, hiding my laughter. Imogen was one of the clumsiest people I'd ever met and she still acted as though she had 9 lives, even though I'm pretty sure she'd already used at least 6 in the time I'd known her.
"Carry on and you'll end up like Lottie!" Mia shouted with her thick southern accent. She was from London but moved up to Manchester for university.
"Yeah carry on, Im, I could do with some company," I shouted, using Imogen's nickname. She furrowed her eyebrows, focusing on getting up off the floor. As she pushed herself up with her arms, Mia pushed her back down, flat onto her stomach.
"Bitch," She grumbled, lying on the floor like a starfish. Both me and Mia carried on laughing, watching her in entertainment.

It was Saturday evening and I was in the library on my university campus.
I usually spent Saturday's trying to catch up with my uni work and to do assignments which were due. I was listening to my music through my Beats when it stopped. I looked across at my phone to see someone ringing me.
"Hi, Mum," I greeted happily through the speaker.
"Hi, Lotts, just checking in on you, how's your arm?" She asked. I was very close with my family, I'd often go home a few times in the week to check in and often so that I didn't have to cook for myself. Sometimes, I just couldn't be bothered.
I carried on speaking to my Mum for at least 10 minutes before hanging up to carry on with my work. I had started to plan my first assignment which was due in two weeks, dumping lots of different links onto a Word document for the next time I did some work.
I was about to start packing my stuff up when my phone pinged through my headphones. I pulled my phone towards me to check it, I quickly looked at the time to see it was 7:20pm, before looking to see who had text me, Chloe.
From: Chloe
You still coming tomorrow? 7:20pm
Coming where tomorrow? My brain was like a sieve. Before I started to type and ask where, my phone vibrated.
