Cinder was seriously getting fed up with Thorne opening her control panel. She woke up glaring at him for the third time that week.
"I TOLD YOU NOT TO OPEN MY CONTROL PANEL!" Cinder's internal volume sensors quieted at the sound of her shrieks.
"You overheated again," Thorne said, as if that made it okay to open up the control panel to her brain.
"That doesn't make it okay to open my control panel!" Cinder cried out. She stood up, brushing the dirt off of her legs, and raised her fist.
"Cinder, stop!" Cress squeaked. Iko had trimmed her hair to a more suitable style, a cute little bob cut that waved slightly.
"Yeah," Thorne said a little two loudly. Cinder almost strangled him, had it not been for Kai.
He came in from behind and wrapped his arms around her, whispering in her ear.
"Calm down, Cinder, calm down," He said gently. rested his head at the crook of her neck where it curved to meet her shoulder.
Cinder took a deep breath as Kai released her from his gentle hug. Cinder gave Thorne one more threatening look, and grabbed a bottle of water nearby. She drank a little, and sat down on the wood floor.
Thorne was getting on her nerves.
"Cinder, let's go work on something in the back," Kai whispered to her, and she nodded. Her spike of anger suddenly left her tired. Very tired. She let Kai pull her up to her feet, and they both walked toward the workroom, where Cinder had been repairing new wiring for Iko.
Cinder grabbed a wrench, and threw it against the wall.
"UGH!" She yelled, and Kai came up beside her. He gently worked her hair out of it's ponytail, and ran his fingers through it down her back. Cinder shivered a little at the lightest touch of Kai's fingers brushing her back.
She honestly couldn't understand why she was so angry. It was like her brain had kicked into overdrive, and she was constantly angry. Maybe Thorne had hit something on accident when she had opened her control panel.
Suddenly, there was a sound like angry sirens.
Emergency! Emergency! Everyone to mission control as fast as possible. ASAP!
Cress's voice cut through the system. Cinder hesitated. The door burst open, and the two turned.
"Cinder, Darla's down. The Lunars have found a new hacker." Iko said, her voice grim.
Cinder was sprinting before she even knew what to do.
