(The swimming hole^^^)

Watching the clock turn 12:00pm on the last day of school has always been what I look forward to every school year. The excitement that builds up in the classroom, right before school ends and summer begins, the instant relief of not having to stress about school work or waking up early every morning.

As soon as the clock turns to 12, I hear a few students cheering, and everyone leaves the classroom as fast as possible.

I find my best friend, Aliah as soon as I get into the hall. "Hey bitch!" she greats me. Ali is an open book. She is never ashamed of anything she does and I love that for her. I sometimes wish I could be more like her. "Hey lovie!" "We still going to the swimming hole tonight?" She asks me.

The night after school ends every year, everyone at my school goes to the swimming hole to hang out and do a bonfire. "Yeah, of course we are." I only have one more year of highschool, so I plan to spend it having a good time, and now that it's summer, I don't want to miss out on anything. "Great! I'm going over to Jareds house but I'll pick you up at 7:30 tonight!"

Jared's her boyfriend of 3 years. They've been together on and off since freshman year. They take breaks often but always get back together after about two days of being apart. He treats her well, they just don't know how to handle fights.

My house is close to the school so when the weather is good, I walk to and from school. The school is about a block away from the beach where my house is. I put my headphones on, playing 3 Nights, by Dominic Fike, and start my walk.

When I get to a crosswalk, I look over at the car on the road beside me and see Nick Tuck with a guy I don't recognize. Nick and I's parents are best friends, so me and him have always been close. We grew up together.

"You want a ride Cass?" Nick calls from the open window of his Jeep. "I'm okay, Nick. Thank you though." I tell him with a smile. "Alright." I look at the guy he's with. He definitely doesn't go to school with us. He has light skin and curls. He had sunglasses on. He noticed me staring at him and smirked at me as they drove away.

I continued my walk home. When I finally got back, I could hear music blasting from inside as I approached the door. I walk inside to find my Little sister dancing to the song in the middle of the living room. I drop my bag and walk over to the speaker to turn down the music.

"Hey!" She complains. "Millie, I could hear it from a mile away, we have neighbors." I tell her as I walk upstairs to my bedroom. When I get inside, I go straight to my bed to lay down. We got out early from school today, but I still need to take my daily after school nap.

I passed out after about 5 minutes. When I wake up, I check the time to see it's already 6:30. I hear my stomach make a noise and I realize I haven't eaten anything all day. I walk downstairs to the kitchen and open a small bag of chips.

I walk outside to the back deck to enjoy my snack. The sun is about to set and there is a small breeze. Watching the waves roll in on the beach in front of me, I take deep breaths.

After about ten minutes, I walk back to my room to get ready. I changed into a black bikini, and put a pair of denim shorts on over. I grab a tote bag, stuffing my towel, a pair of sunglasses and a water bottle inside.

I'm all ready to go by 7:20 so I walk to my mom's room to tell her goodbye. I knock on her door and she tells me to come in. She's laying in bed, watching a show. I feel bad, but every time I see her, I notice her missing hair. She had such beautiful, thick dark hair, just like mine.

"Are you heading to the bonfire?" she asked me. I nod my head. "That's always going to be one of the things I miss most about being a teenager. I'm so happy you get to do it too, Dee." My mom grew up here in North Carolina too. She loves it here, she's never wanted to leave.
