Cassians POV

'Amren I swear to God if you don't hand over the last biscuit-

'You'll what? Hurt me?' The small being snaps back, cutting me off with a wicked laugh.

Morrigan strides into the kitchen, walking towards the kettle as her blonde hair drifts behind her.

My head cocks to the side in annoyance, 'You don't even eat them! Your literally a bloodatarian' I deadpan.

She shrugs at my words, walking towards me whilst holding MY biscuit like its the most precious thing in the world.

'I know but eating this shit tasting garbage in spite of you makes me happy' an evil grin crosses her face as she pushes past me, bumping into my shoulder as she exits the kitchen.

Evil little thing.

She won't get to even appreciate the impeccable flavours that biscuit has.

Mor shifts her stance, facing me with an unimpressed look plastered to her face, 'are you seriously that upset about a biscuit?'

'Yes.'

She rolls her eyes trying to hide her smile,
'You are the most idiotic person I know.'

I grin, 'say that again, It turned me on.'

She shakes her head in amusement returning to the now boiled kettle, pouring the hot water with precision as it falls into her mug.

'Az is late.' She states, mixing her concoction carelessly.

I squint my eyes,
'didn't realise you were keeping tabs on him.'

A humourless chuckle escapes Morrigan as she turns to look me in the eyes, her golden ones staring into my own. 'You and I both know I'm not keeping tabs, he's just never late and the meeting starts in a couple minutes' she states, gesturing towards the clock.

Fair, he knows to be here extra early for Rhysands meetings. Especially the ones regarding Aliera.

My brother has barely left his study as he tries to figure out how to retrieve her without starting a war. It's been two months now, and every day he gets more agitated and impatient.

I offered to just fly in, save her and kill anyone in my way. But no, he objected to my offer almost instantly, though I didn't see the problem.

For all we know she could be held somewhere completely different, she could be dead for cauldrons sake.

Though, I learnt my lesson from thinking that one with my shields down that's for sure.

The minute we got back from Danaki Rhysand was in such a state he just let loose on everything regarding Aliera.

And I mean everything.

Talk about dropping a bomb, this one was fucking nuclear. I still have trouble wrapping my head around it all, it's beyond comprehendible.

'All right, let's gather' I hear Rhysand voice from the sitting room. I look to Mor before she takes a deep breath, she nods towards the room, gesturing me to go first.

We walk in and take our usual seats, Amren on her red velvet sitting chair, Mor sitting back in her dark brown recliner and myself to the left of the deep green double sofa.

Rhysand stays standing, cauldron knows he will be pacing in 30 seconds.

My brother looks around the room with tired but determined eyes, noticing Azriels absence instantly.

'Where's Azriel?' He automatically looks to me.

'I think-

I'm cut off as I hear the front door swing open, smashing against the wall.
