14 - Dinner Date (2)

Masayang nagkukwentuhan ang barkada over dinner. Okay naman ang pagtanggap nila kay Simon. Di naman nahirapan si Simon makisama because he's generally a nice person.

Patuloy sa kulitan sina C at Tommy. Ilang beses na nga nagbanta si C na makikipagbreak kay Tommy. But Tommy would just laugh at it and whispher something on C's ear that would make her blush.

Sina A at Paul naman ay tahimik lang at kasali pa rin naman sa usapan but they always got this moment na they will gaze in each other's eyes. They are lost in their own world for a moment.

Sina C at Tommy talaga ang maingay, their always sweet banter. A and Paul would just tell something that would make C frustrated that would lead to breaking up with Tommy.

Tumatawa lang kami ni Simon.

In short, our dinner table was one of the noisiest table in the pizzaria.

"Guys, let's go na?" I said, halos isang oras na kami sa loob. Nakakahiya na.

"Okay!! " C agreed. At ayun, lumabas na rin kami.

I watched how my friends and their boyfriends walked ahead of me and Simon. They are still talking like they never run out of things to talk about.

Naramdaman ko ang kamay ni Simon na hawakan ang kamay ko. I flinched. Naisip kong biglang bawiin ang kamay ko. Then again, I stopped myself.

Baka magtaka siya. So I acted normal.

"Okay ka na ba?" He asked.

I tried to smile at him and nodded.

"Ang tahimik mo kanina." He stated and still looked so worried.

Because I'm not really okay.

"Ganun naman talaga ako. Kahit itanong mo pa sa kanila."

Tinignan nya lang ako na parang inaalam kung nagsasabi ako ng totoo. I looked away. Natatakot akong makita niya ang sakit na nararamdaman ko.

He sighed, giving up. Nagpasalamat na lang ako dahil hindi na sya nagpumilit.

"Papasok ka na ba bukas? Kaya mo na ba?"qq

"Yes. Papasok na ako bukas. Next week na ang midterms. I need to do some catching up."

"Oo nga. Gusto mo sunduin kita bukas?"

"Naku! Wag na. Ayos lang ako."

Natapos ang pag-uusap namin nang makarating na kami sa may gate ng compound namin.

"I-text kita mamaya pag naka-uwi na ako."

I nodded. His hands gripped my hand tighter.

"Text mo ako pag pasok mo bukas."

Again, I nodded. Then, he pulled me into his embrace.

Gusto ko biglang umiyak. Gusto kong itanong sa kanya kung sino ang babaeng kasama niya. Gusto kong malaman.

Before I break down in front of him, I stop myself. I broke our embrace and smiled at him.

"Salamat sa pagsama kanina."

"Hehe. Actually, excited nga ako kanina. I was looking forward to it, to meet your friends. It was fun."

I nodded. "Nag-enjoy din ako. Paano? Una na ako sa loob. Andami ko pang gagawin, natulog lang ako buong araw. Haha."

"Don't stress too much." He said as he held my cheek.

I looked away, flustered. I made a quick goodbye and ran inside.

"Anyare sayo?" C asked.

My heart is thumping so much. Daig ko pa ang nag-100m dash sa bilis ng tibok ng puso ko.

Di ko mapigilan ang mainis sa sarili ko. How can I be so stupid to just melt inside because of whatever Simon do to me?

Nababaliw na ba ako? Kasi kanina lang parang gusto kong iyakan si Simon, tapos ngayon halos himatayin ako sa sobrang kilig.

I shook my head. Enough overthinking. Baka matuluyan ka na mabaliw. Mahirap magsalita ng tapos, Gale. Baka baliw ka na?

"Hoy babae! Okay ka lang ba?" C is standing in front me, with her hands on her hips. Nagulat ako. Kanina pa ba sya sa harapan ko?

"Para kang naka-mute na nagmo-monologue?" She said, shaking her head and going back to her study area.

"Yes, I'm all good."

Anyway, I can't afford to be distracted. Malapit na ang midterms, I'll set this aside. Di na siguro muna kami magkikita ni Simon coz we're both busy.

That's right! I'll figure this later.

"Tama ka nga, Coleen. Baka nga nababaliw na si Gale." I heard Awit said.

I frowned.

"Ano ba pinag-uusapan nyo?" Naguguluhan na tanong ko.

"Girl, everything will work out. Go with the flow. Don't stress yourself too much." Awit said, as she began browsing her notes.

"Oo nga. Things will fall into its right places. Though, it takes time. Be patient. Gale, chill ka lang." Coleen said, as she put some cream on her face and her eyes still glued on her reviewers.

Kakaiba talaga itong mga roommates, focus sa pag-aaral.

"Andito lang kami, Gale." Pahabol ni Awit, na may sinusulat sa notebook nya.

"Tama!"

Still lost on whatever they are talking about, I just rolled my eyes and they continued giggling.

"Aaaaaahhhh! Ewan ko sa inyo!! Nababaliw na kayo!!" I shouted.

And before I closed our bedroom's door, I heard A and C burst into laughter, laughing their guts out.

God, why did you give me crazy people as my friends?
