"Lia...darlin', are you positive this is what you want? You know you don't have to rush out there..."

"Aunt Mimi....please, don't make this harder than it has to be. This is what I want, I'm going to be going to pastry school and I'm going to live right by the bakery I will be working at...there is no way this wasn't suppose to happen!" Lia's soft and firm voice, her reassuring words were probably the only things putting her aunt at ease.

"Well...I know how you are, stubborn as a bull, just like your Father! Once you set your mind to it...that's it." The older woman sighed and hugged her tightly, "Just promise to be safe...call, write...whatever just keep us in the loop okay?"

"I promise...I will."

"You ever need to come back, you know where to find us. If things don't work out or you think you cannot handle it, we won't be mad and we will be right here with open arms." Lia felt tears sting at the corners of her eyes as she smiled at her Uncle.

"I know...I'm grateful for that." She hugged the man tightly.

"The farm just ain't going to be the same with out ya Lia Loop" he chuckled some at his nickname for his niece.

"I know, I know. But I'll come by during all the holidays, I promise!"

"I need to get going before it gets any later...the moving van is already there and I need to at least get my bed set up for the night." Lia spoke as she walked towards her car, her aunt and uncle close behind.

"This is it huh? I love you guys." Her voice cracked as she fought back the urge to cry.

Country folk, for some reason, always had a closer bond within their families some how, and despite knowing she was only a 30 minute drive away, a hour if you include traffic, it still was odd knowing she'd be on her own. But there was no going back at this point as she found herself entering her car.

It was all a huge blur after that. Traffic had gotten out of hand due to a wreck; go figure. Her new landlord had misplaced the keys to her new place, which she spent a hour of her time helping her look for them.

The moving company that drove the van and packed her things had done a horrible job in placing the boxes and stuff she labeled in the right place, so she spent a good hour fishing for her bed frame parts and the bag with the bolts and screwdriver in it. Let's not go into how she nearly DIED(okay, that's just her being dramatic, but still!) trying to get the parts and then her mattress up the stairs and into the apartment. Navigating it all through the halls and into what would be her bedroom was a whole different story.

All in all, after a break for dinner, Lia finally got her bed all set up by 9 pm that night.

She was exhausted. Despite knowing she had a full day tomorrow of moving boxes from the van and up the stairs into her apartment and then unboxing everything...she still had the hugest smile on her face as she dozed off.

This is what she dreamed of, she was finally leading her life! It was just a shame she didn't have someone to experience it with...

As usual, stay cheeky ferret minions, I love you. -ibitironman }
