'You have got to be kidding me,' Enid said, eyes wide, hands clutching Wednesday's arm and squeezing it tight. Wednesday glared at her - a silent warning that Enid did catch, removing her hold.

'Jokes are futile attempts at comedy. I prefer sarcasm, but I certainly am not kidding,' Wednesday voiced as she glared at Thing, who then started giving his own opinion.

'You're absolutely right, Thing! Perhaps the reason is that you have made no effort whatsoever.' Enid said, sitting up straight, cheering Thing on, both of them pushing Wednesday's desire to stab them further. She glared at them again, to which Enid stared back. ' Think about it- she kissed you first, took you on dates, bought you thoughtful gifts. What have you done to show reciprocation?'

'I offered my presence. I consider that enough to show interest,' Wednesday replied coldly.

Enid sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose.' And yet you're not dating at the moment. In my opinion, that is a tale-tell sign that what you're doing is fundamentally flawed.'

'And that is your opinion. I am completely sure Dahlia has no issue with my way of doing this.'

Things signed again, interrupting the two girls. Enid and Wednesday's eyes slightly widened at the realization.

'You're two for two, Thing. Perhaps Dahlia has no issue with your ... romantic performance, but what about others? Especially Xavier. Dahlia is not obligated to stay loyal to you as of now.'

After a moment of contemplation, Wednesday realized that she had never considered the idea before. Although she typically didn't concern herself with labels or the opinions of others, this situation was unique.

She and the cunning demon belonged together. They had a deep understanding of each other that surpassed any other connection she had ever experienced. Wednesday had always harbored feelings for the demon, but it wasn't until now that she realized the importance of expressing them directly.

In her heart, she knew that the demon was hers.

'Are you suggesting that she might move on if she assumes uninterest on my part?'

'I am stating it outright, Wednesday. I have known her for a while - she knows more about relationships than you and I, and I am telling you that she does not settle.'

Wednesday's gaze shifted from Enid to Thing, and then to the flower on her desk. Thinking about how to admit the following to Enid.

'What shall I do to prevent it from happening?' Wednesday asked, making Enid's eyes slightly widen at the prospect that the emotionally obtuse Wednesday Addams was asking for advice on relationships. Thing climbed on the bed, between the two girls and started signing again.

'No. I prefer dead flowers.'

'What about actually asking her to be your girlfriend? Or perhaps partner if that word is not to your liking?'

Wednesday considered it again, silently contemplating if she was willing to make a fool out of herself in front of the gorgeous vampire that she could not yet admit to herself that she loved.

'Perhaps. But even if I wanted to, which I don't, how should I?'

'Do it when you feel the time is right. Say exactly what you mean, outright, not just to yourself.'
