Forbidden Romance (James x Reader)

Undercover

After I followed Jesse to the Team Rocket headquarters, I carefully scanned through the crowd, looking for James. Curious as to why I didn't see him, I turned my head to Jesse and asked, "Where's James? I can't see him anywhere." Jesse looked over my shoulder and pointed out James to me. He was dressed as a woman, and if he was able to fool me into thinking he was some random woman standing around, he was good enough to fool anyone. Jesse signaled to him and James came fluttering over in his black ball gown like he thought he was a butterfly, looked me over and then started staring at my right collarbone as if trying to burn a hole through it with his eyes. Honestly, it was KINDA creepy. I said his name in that same tone as I used when we were kids, and it took me saying his name three or four times before he snapped out of his weird trance and recognized me. "Y/N!" He screamed, as he  threw his arms around me. I couldn't decide if this was creepy or just weird for him to act like this, so I just awkwardly hugged him back. He turned his head to Jesse, "Where did you find them?" He asked. Jesse let out a slight grin and said, "Why does it matter? Your friend is here, aren't they?" James rolled his eyes and led me over to the balcony, where we decided to catch up on what we've both been through in the last few years. I admitted that I missed him and he happily smiled along as I told him EVERYTHING I'd been dealing with, even drama with my team due to my leader HATING me and blaming me for every problem our team had. After hearing all that, James suggested that I join Team Rocket. I shrugged. "I'll consider it, if my boss doesn't change her ways." I said, kinda skeptical that she'd even try to fix that. I just leaned into James' arm and allowed a faint smile to show on my face. It was quite rare for me to smile in these days, as I never REALLY had anything to smile about, that was, until tonight, I didn't. I was determined to keep a smile on my face, I had to, for James.
