I wake up with a groan, lifting my head up from where I had curled up in the corner of the room, far from the door. There was a second table in the room, up against the wall and I was currently laying under it, my wrists handcuffed in actual chain cuffs and the chain is looped around one of the legs of the table, which is bolted to the floor. Sighing loudly in annoyance when I remember where I am, I just lay back down on my back and stare at the bottom of the table above me.

I find myself thinking back to the dream—a nightmare, really—that I'd had yesterday before I woke up and all the scientists and 'Recombinants' as they called themselves began inspecting me. I try my best to stay focused on the good parts of the dream, closing my eyes as I focus and smiling softly when I'm able to remember what the children looked like, not even realizing I'd started crying as I heard the door to the room beep and open slowly, my eyes immediately snapping open at the noise.

I sat up as quickly as I could, rotating myself to sit with my hands behind me, the metal pole of the bottom of the table cold through my shirt against my back. Watching as the people walked in, I felt my tail flick in annoyance as I registered who they were; the one woman who was always chewing bubble gum and that one guy who had sunglasses on all the time, he didn't seem too bad as he mostly stayed quiet and hadn't bothered me yesterday. When the woman sees me already awake and sat up, glaring at them, she claps her hands together loudly, the loud sudden noise making my ears twitch as she walked over before stopping a few feet away from me, squatting down and resting her forearms on her knees as she got down to my level of sight.

She brought up a hand towards my face and I snarled before snapping at it, tail lashing around angrily behind me as she quickly pulled her hand away. "Fiesty today, eh?" She quipped while my eyes flicked to the door, watching a few scientists come into the room, one or two of them greeting the other Recombinant in the room. The woman just watched me for a moment before standing back up straight and walking away from me, talking with two of the scientists. I heard them say something about an attack on Bridgehead that happened yesterday and my ears immediately swiveled in their direction to listen in, trying not to show it on my face or in my body language and thankfully none of them noticed despite my ears twitching at certain words the scientists would use and how I still had my body facing them but refused to turn my head their direction.

I mostly managed to keep a straight face as I listened to their conversation, ears twitching occasionally and tail swishing slowly across the floor next to me. Suddenly one of the humans started describing how she'd seen one of the Na'vi warriors get shot down, both him and his 'bird' as she called it. My heart beat louder in my ears, hoping that it wouldn't be Jake, and as the lady started describing the warrior I let out a quiet breath of relief only to feel myself still completely as I listened to the rest of her description. I knew without a doubt that it had been Tsu'tey, and suddenly my dream flashed into my head again, the moment Jake had been torn away from me replaying in my mind as my thoughts immediately went to Neytiri and their baby.

Before even I could process what I was doing I had turned myself around and stood up, planting my feet on the floor before beginning to tug the chain of my handcuffs hard against the metal pole the table was resting on. I'm not sure if the Recombinants haven't noticed or just doubt that I'll be able to get out of the chains, but I have no problems with them not even trying to stop me. As I keep tugging I begin getting more and more frustrated,  growling quietly at the damned table still holding me in this corner of the room. Eventually I prop myself up with my feet both against the metal pole, brace myself with my arms still on either side of the pole, and begin to pull myself backward hard.

I can feel the pain of the metal digging against my wrists but I just grit my teeth and bare it, continuing to pull until a loud clank and bang sound is heard and suddenly I'm propelled backwards to land on my back as the metal pole caves in against my chains and detaches from the bottom of the table. I quickly stand myself back up and slide my chains off from around the pole, ears pricking up when I hear the sound of the safety being turned off on a gun. Rather then dropping the end of the pole that's now resting in my hands I slowly tighten my hold on it as I feel a gun press against the back of my head, eyes narrowing to slits as I feel adrenaline begin to course through my veins when my fight or flight response reacts to the situation. Slowly, I turn my head to look at the one holding the gun only to see it's the female Recombinant, she just smirks at me and blows another bubble with her gum, popping it with her fangs. I let out a low growl and with her eyes trained on my face, I carefully lift the pole just a bit to get a better grip on it with my still chained hands, the male Recombinant noticing and immediately yelling to the woman, "Z watch out—!" but his yelling is enough to distract her, her head turning to look at him in confusion.

I immediately swing upwards with the pole, smacking it into the side of the woman's head and the impact sends her to the floor knocked out cold, dropping her gun. The man and I lock eyes for a second before both of us lunge for the gun, I reach it first because I'm closer, though as soon as I get it in my hands he's tackling me to the ground and pinning me down with his weight on top of me. I snarl as one of his hands reaches around me to try and take the gun and promptly sink my teeth into his  forearm, fangs digging in past the sleeve of the jacket he's wearing until I taste blood, his loud grunt of pain enough of an indication to know that I've definitely harmed him. However he doesn't get up so I start flailing to try and get him off me, managing to squirm out from under him and stand up, turning to face both him and the woman, backing a few feet away towards the door while keeping the loaded gun trained on them.

I hear the door hiss open quietly behind me and immediately turn to face it when I catch sight of Colonel Quaritch in the doorway, a semi-shocked look on his face at the scene before him. Just as my finger slides to the trigger I'm tackled again, still accidentally shooting the gun but it misses the colonel entirely and instead hits and embeds itself into one of the mirrors along the wall. The man had tackled me down again and this time he manages to catch my wrists, squeezing harshly until I drop the gun with a pained noise. He immediately pulls my wrists behind my back and takes out a different pair of cuffs, looping them around my wrists and making sure they're secure before standing himself up and yanking me up to my feet by my cuffs. The Colonel is suddenly in my face, looking as pissed off as ever, "Now what in the fuck was that, Cupcake?" He snarls the words out, the nickname sounding especially venomous. I just snarl right back at him and spit the blood in my mouth out onto his face. His ear twitches in annoyance and he steps aside, the woman I had hit with the pole finally back on her feet again behind him, blood slowly dripping down the side of her head as she steps closer to me. Suddenly I feel the free hand of the man behind me grasp onto my queue tightly, making it so I can't move my head at all and I'm about to question him on what the hell he thinks he's doing when I see the girl raise her fist.

She swings and I feel it make contact with my jaw before my vision goes completely black, vaguely feeling the man drop my now limp body to the floor before I completely black out.
