Rose
Over the next three weeks the human scientists and doctor ran numerous tests on me, checking on mine and my baby's health to make sure we were both alright. At my request, either Zdinarsk or Mansk would be there for every test, there were one or two times that even Lyle came with me for them when the others were busy.
The baby was growing at a steady pace and my stomach was rapidly getting larger since Z would always argue with the Colonel until he let her bring me extra food for the baby, and while I was grateful for her actions it also worried me that the Colonel was angry with her because of me or directly angry at me every day. One night I woke up in the middle of the night, surely sometime around 3 or 4 in the morning, and began pacing my cell anxiously, hands gently rubbing my belly as my eyes searched every corner of the room. I'd been given a single blanket and Z had provided me with a pillow, and I was quick to drag both items over to one corner of the room, furthest from the door, beginning to try and arrange them into a sort of.. nest-shape, I suppose? When I finally gave up on trying to make it comfortable I began to cry quietly, unable to control it as my emotions spilled over while I leaned against the wall and slid down it to sit in my poorly made nest in the corner of the dark room.
It had to have only been a few minutes before the door to my cell made it's usual hissing noise before opening, letting light flood into the room and forcing me to shut my eyes tight, only opening them when I'd adjusted. My eyes opened to see a pair of legs stood right in front of me, and when I looked up I realized it was Zdinarsk, a concerned look on her face as she crouched down and gently wiped away my tears, cooing. "What's wrong Cupcake? Can't sleep?" I shake my head no immediately and gesture down at the nest area I'm sat in, her eyes softening as she realizes what's going on. Without another word she stood back up and carefully helped me up as well, leading me away from the corner before going back and picking up the blanket and pillow, carrying both as she began walking out of the cell. I watched her, confused, until she stepped outside the door and turned to look at me, a soft smile on her face as she motioned me over, "Let's go Cupcake, gonna get you somewhere better to sleep."
I smiled back before following her, tugging the large baggy shirt that I was wearing down to keep my lower half covered, my thighs barely visible under the piece of clothing. Mansk had offered it to me when I became to big for my usual tank tops and tighter shirts and after a short while I accepted it since I truly could not fit in my own tops. I followed Zdinarsk to the elevator then stood inside with her while it went up to a floor I hadn't been on yet, stepping out and following her again as she walked down the new hallway. As we walked I looked into some of the rooms that had open doors, but they were dark and my eyes had adjusted to the bright hallway so I couldn't see inside. Eventually Z stopped in front of a closed door, taking a little card out of one of the pockets on her pants and pressing it to a scanner next to the door, walking in once it swooshed open.
I stood in the doorway, while I waited for Z to turn the lights on, only walking farther into the room once she turned on a small desk lamp, illuminating the room in a soft warm glow. As I looked around I noticed that it looked very homey, much different to the rest of Bridgehead, only noticing the large bed against one wall when I heard Z drop my blanket and pillow onto it, smiling down at me when I looked over to her. "Z is this your room? I don't wanna take your room from you—" I say quickly but she just shushes me and waves it off, going over to her closet and grabbing out some extra pillows and a big fluffy blanket, setting them all on the bed as well. "It's fine, I'd rather you have it.. do you need help arranging everything or you got it?" She asks, arms once again crossing over her chest like they always do, I just shake my head and climb up onto the bed, beginning to arrange everything the way I want it.
Once I'm done I lean back to sit on my knees, tail swishing behind me on the bed as I inspect the nest I'd made, frowning slightly as it feels like something's still missing. Suddenly I feel a light tap on the top of my head and turn, looking up to Z as she smiles down at me before holding out a shirt that was clearly hers, "Uh, the doctors mentioned that once you got to this stage, where you're nesting or whatever they called it, you'd also need items like clothing or blankets from the people close to you.. I know Jake isn't here, but I thought maybe this would help in the meantime?" She speaks quietly, nervously rubbing the back of her head with her free hand as I gently take the shirt and inspect it for a few moments before crawling over to the one side of my nest and arranging it somewhere, smiling a bit once I'm done.
I turn to look at her again after a few minutes of silence, sighing quietly before I ask, "Would you um.. could you ask the others for something for my nest? Like Mansk, Lyle, Walker.. the others don't have to but those ones specifically I'd also like something from if they're willing to give something up." Zdinarsk just looks at me for a moment, a little surprised look on her face before it turns back into a smile and she nods quickly, turning and jogging to the door and calling behind her, "Be back in a bit!" before walking back out of the room, shutting the door behind her but not locking it.

3rd Person
Zdinarsk jogged back down the hallway the way she and Rose came, turning a corner and heading over to the room closest to her, the door to it already unlocked and light and noise coming from the other side of it. She opened it and walked in, shutting it behind her to make sure the carbon dioxide didn't leak too much into the rest of the floor before walking over to where the other Recoms, including the Colonel, sat playing card games. Some of them were sat on Lyle's bed since it was his room, while the rest sat around the bed on the floor. Mansk nodded his head to her in greeting, which she returned before walking closer and bending down to speak next to his head so he could hear her over everyone else talking, "Rose is nesting, said she needs something from you, like a shirt or pillow or blanket or something." He looked completely confused by what she said but just shrugged and got up, leaving to go retrieve the items from his room. She repeated this process to both Lyle and Walker, who both nodded and were quick to retrieve their own items.
Z ended up with a blanket and t-shirt from Mansk, a blanket from Walker, and a large t-shirt, a hoodie, and two blankets from Lyle. When Fike began to tease Lyle about how he's had a soft spot for Rose ever since they found out she was pregnant, Lyle turns and pounces on him, the two of them fighting for a bit while Z walks back out of the room, chuckling quietly as she hears Quaritch yelling at them to "knock that shit off!" She hurries back to her room and when she steps inside she smiles softly at the sight of Rose curled up in her nest, looking on the verge of falling asleep. Zdinarsk walks over after closing the door and gently shakes Rose awake, waiting until she sits up before Z sets all the items on the bed, smiling at the way Rose's face lights up at the sight. Z ends up helping Rose arrange a few of the items, the two of them ending up having to rearrange the entire nest a few times until Rose decides that it's done, passing out on the middle of it not long after while Z goes and sleeps in the swivel chair that's at her small desk.

Not the longest chapter but wanted to add a little bit about how Rose is during her pregnancy before everything that's gonna go down next chapter.
I headcanon that Na'vi women nest like cats do when they're pregnant, considering the Na'vi have quite a few catlike qualities.
Also I'm making it so Rose actually bonds with Z and Lyle a lot to make it harder on them all next chapter >:)
