Omniscient POV

billie's alarm rang at 8am, but that only led to pattern of her hitting snooze. billie snuggled even closer to emery, as she was too comfortable from the warmth of her girlfriend and the covers to get up.

once again billie's alarm rang, only when she read the time it showed 8:50am. billie scrambled to her feet, as her meeting started at 9.

emery sat up, squinting her eyes, awoken by the lack of billie's presence next to her.

"why are you rushing," she groaned.

"i woke up way too late," billie explained and she kissed emery's forehead, " i gotta go baby, i love you."

they paused for a second, locking eyes, but neither said a word. billie left the house since she was already late, but still realizing her words.

i love you

she didn't regret it, she did love emery, but she didn't know if it was too soon.

emery, still sat in the bed, processing what billie said.

"she loves me," emery whispered to herself. then apart of her felt bad. she said nothing back. emery knew she loved billie, she just got caught in the moment.

emery decided not to dwell on the situation, and that she'd talk more when claudia was over in about 30 minutes.

claudia and emery walked flipping through racks of clothing at the flea market, "so guess what happened this morning," emery said.

"what?" claudia asked as she turned her attention to emery.

"uh billie told me she loved me," emery said.

"no way, that's amazing," claudia smiled.

"see normally that would be a good reaction. but i just sat there, looked at her for a second, and didn't say a word, i think i was in shock."

"oh em, it's normal to freeze up when you don't expect it," claudia said.

"i know, i just felt really shitty about it in the moment you know?"

"i'm sure you'll make it up to her," claudia told me.

a few hours after claudia and emery got back from shopping, emery decided to take a uber to billie's house and explain everything from that morning. she made sure to bring her gf her favorite flowers as sympathy gifts too.

after a few knocks, billie opened the door, surprised to see emery there.

"hi baby," emery said as her girlfriend ushered her in the house.

"i didn't expect you to come over," billie said as she tried tugging shark off emery's legs.

"i know. i wanted to explain about this morning," emery took a deep breath, " i didn't me to just blankly stare at you this morning, i love you too bil, i really do, i was just caught-"

billie smiled to herself as her gf rambled on, she cupped her face and kissed her, cutting her sentence off.

"i know baby," billie giggled.

"i also got you these," emery said as she held out flowers to her girlfriend, whose smile grew even bigger.

"thank you, angel," billie said after kissing the top of emery's head.
