i walked up to the front door of my house but hesitated before going in.

i decided against it.

matt was going to be picking me up and it was nice out.

i walked over to the grass in my front yard, squatting down and feeling the ground to make sure it wasn't wet.

after rubbing my hand over the dry grass, i sat down and put my airpods in.

i started to think about what music to play and decided on taylor swift.

i was going to try to start romanticizing everything like aaliyah did.

i chose the song 'new romantics' after it have the word romantics in the title. i laid down on the grass, closing my eyes and focusing on the music.

'cause baby i could build a castle out of all the bricks they threw at me

and every day is like a battle

but every night with us is like a dream

i smiled and nodded along to the song.

if it wasn't for the music, i wouldn't have been sure how long i laid on that grass.

i was in the middle of listening to 'speak now' when i heard a car horn.

i sat up and saw a mini van sitting in front of my house.

a certain brunette in the drivers seat smiling and waving at me.

matt.

i smiled immediately and took both of my airpods out before jumping up and walking over to his car.
