"Prince Taehyung is returning from the border victorious!!!" When Jungkook hears the announcement, he quickly leaves the library and goes to greet the returning prince. Once he leaves the castle doors, he sees the rest of Taehyung's family waiting for him with various expressions on their faces.
As Taehyung rides through the city, the people toss white flowers to celebrate his victorious return. The prince smiles as he greets his joyous people.
"Welcome home, Prince Taehyung!" The people shout in excitement as they line the streets to see their victorious prince.
When Taehyung rides into the castle courtyard, he sees his family waiting for him, so he quickly dismounts and bows to the King and Queen. As he stands, he sees King Jeon standing in a distance with an uncertain gaze. Jungkook wonders how the prince will treat him now that he has returned.
"Jungkook." Taehyung whispers with a smile as he looks at the handsome king. When Jungkook returns his smile, Taehyung quickly walks over to him.
Jungkook smiles in relief and hugs the alpha prince. "Are you injured in any way?" Jungkook softly asks as he holds the alpha prince in his arms.
"No. I am not." Taehyung answers and rests in the king's embrace.
"Prince Kim Taehyung, what is this?" King Kim's voice oozes anger and disgust as he watches his alpha son be embraced by a male alpha.
Jungkook looks at the King in surprise when he hears the anger in his voice. Then he looks at the Queen who is in shock and the Crown Princess who looks terrified. What is wrong? What happened?
"Are you submitting to another alpha?" The King snarls as he glares at his alpha son.
"He has not submitted to King Jeon. There is no need to become angered." The Queen desperately grabs her husband's hand as fear for her son's life fills her.
"Answer me." The King commands as his eyes glow a threatening red.
"Yes." Taehyung calmly responds as he holds Jungkook's hand.
As Jungkook looks at the King, he is surprised. That is not the same worried father that I saw before. The man standing in front of me has hatred and disgust in his eyes.
"You are a disgusting disgrace." The King hisses and spits in anger.
"King Jeon, are you willing to mate with my son?" The Queen asks with tears in her eyes as she looks at her precious son.
"I am." Jungkook responds as he squeezes Taehyung's hand.
"He is no son of ours." The King snarls and storms away. "Prepare the ceremony."
What is going on? Jungkook watches as Taeyeon reaches her hand out to her brother but is swiftly lead away by their mother. He watches as everyone leaves Taehyung alone in the courtyard except for Captain Kim Seokjin.
"Prince Taehyung, are you okay?" Seokjin asks as he walks over to the silent prince.
"I am." Taehyung whispers as he desperately holds the hand of the alpha king by his side. "You should leave too."
"I will stay with you until the end." Seokjin responds without leaving Taehyung like the others.
"The King will punish you if you stay by my side." Taehyung quietly mumbles and looks at his friend.
"I care not. I am not leaving you alone." Seokjin softly smiles at the prince he grew up with.
"Your mother will be heartbroken if you are punished." Taehyung whispers and looks at his nanny who is watching with tears.
