Silent Movies

I yank the door open and fly through.
I turn left out of the door and run, turning corners here and there.
I can hear feet pounding behind me.
I have no idea what I'm doing.
I just run.
I turn a corner and almost run straight into Brian. He's got his arm stretched across the hallway blocking me, my aim was to get to the lift but the stairs will do just fine.
I shoot through the door to my left and push myself up.
Run.
I have to keep going.
I can't ever stop.
Run.
Run.
Run.
I reach the top and fall out of the fire escape.
A roof top courtyard.
This is a fancy ass hotel.
I make my way to the edge.
I have to do this slowly.
Or I'll freak.
As I get closer to the edge, still in that ridiculous dress from earlier, I hear Joey and the others nearly keeling over from the run.
"May!" Joey pants, an outstretched hand tries to reach me but there's a good few feet between him and I and between me and the edge.
I turn and walk towards it, I feel a hand grab my arm. He pulls me round so we're face to face.
"What are you doing?"
"Read the note."
"What note?" I use his confusion to yank my arm away and run to the edge.
I fall.
For two seconds.
Someone has me round the waist.
I look down.
It's Brian. He's leaning out of a window. He's obviously just barged his way into someone else's room as there are some confused foreign people behind him.
His arms start to shake.
"I can't hold her!"
I look up and Joey is hanging over the edge.
"Take my hand." He shouts, the urgency in his voice startles me.
I slip a little and this makes him yell, "TAKE MY HAND PLEASE." It scares me so I reach up and take it.
It makes my scars scream but I let him pull me up a little.
"Help me!" He yells for the others and they grab my clothing and legs until I'm up.
When I'm clear of the edge he pulls me into him and holds me, my head in his lap and he drapes himself over me.
Even when it starts raining, one of the others just brings an umbrella.
We stay like that for hours.
