Festival

After Percy cleaned out my eyes I showed him how to clean a large wolf and he was so nervous it was adorable.

"So you kept the glasses to?" I asked and Percy nodded "the ones I had 5 years ago were completely useless and these were the perfect prescription." Percy smiled while adjusting his glasses. I smiled while cleaning off my hands but my smiled faded, rethinking what he said to me. "no need to apologize you know? I know you were stressed and I just got in your business. I always have done that so I don't blame you for snapping" I looked up at him and he looked worried for a moment.

He grabbed my shoulders "that isn't true, you've been nothing but kind to me." I felt guilt as he said that.

The truth is that me, my brother, and are younger sister were the Briarwoods children. That's why we all are alive. Me and brother didn't want any part of what are parents were doing so we left with are sister, Esther.

"Percy I.." speaking of the devil my sister popped her head around a tree. "There you are! Brother was wanting to see you, it's the festival of cessation. It's my turn to sing and your turn to deliver them" oh my god I completely forgot! "Oh right I'll get right on it!" I grabbed my boots and put them on.

"What's the festival of cessation?" I turned around "oh right you haven't been, you definitely have to stay up tonight to witness it" I smiled while grabbing his hand and showing him the way back to the village.

Later that night

Percy's pov

"This is delicious! Who knew a bunch of scavengers would be so talented at cooking" Scanlan said with a mouth full of meat. I bought some of their vendors candy and tried it. It tasted like caramel and chocolate with a slight crunch to it.

"Mm! This is rather delicious.." I mumbled and gave some to Pike then some music was playing, all of us made are way over and took at a large lake. Mythical creatures lit up the area as well as the water.

I saw y/n with people in white clothing, the people were laid down on wooden surfaces. No they're dead. The people in white were dead. I could tell by the way their bodies were decorated with flowers.
Y/n's sister Esther was singing as my friend lowered himself into the water. There was a rope connected to the boats that y/n tugged on, pulling the people into the water, their bodies stayed above the water.

"What is this?" Vax asked as we all stared at the scene before us. "It's to deliver them to the afterlife.." Pike said while pointing at a strange purple glowing light rising up in the water. Then the water pulled each one of the bodies up into the air then started glowing.
Then suddenly they were gone. Nothing but pedals and small glowing orbs flying everywhere.

Y/n came up out of the water and took a long breath. "People of Vinelor I garante that when you die you will be met with peace." I blushed when I looked at him, his hair was braided up into a ponytail and his outfit complimented his eyes so well.

I guess the outfit was so colorful it made his eyes light up. Then y/n must've felt my gaze because he looked at me.

"Sometimes the death will be harsh but remember you will be okay because you are here where we will take care of you forever. Are family promises this" Wait was that directed towards me...

After the festival y/n walked up to me "Hey Percival how was the food? Saw you tried some of are candy" my heart skipped a beat when he looked up at me, what's wrong with me I didn't feel like this before.

Wait a minute but I did before. I guess I loved him even then. I can't tell him that I do! He hates me!

"They were delicious" I smiled slightly and he grabbed some from my hand "hell yeah they are I should know I made the recipe" he ate some and giggled. "You did?" Percy looked surprised while popping some of the candy into his mouth. "No I'm just messing with you" I saw him giggle a bit which lightened my mood. I'm glad he did since it isn't always fun delivering the bodies to the underworld.

Then a large booming noise roared through the village. Every lantern was blown out and any light from the moon was hidden. I guess Percy couldn't see, perks of being half vampire I guess.

"What the fuck..."
