I lay on the lab table in the science room with my head hanging off the edge. My best (girl) friend is standing over the sink with a beaker in her hand.

"I really like him, but I just don't know how to talk to him," she explained uto me. "Do you know what I mean?"

"Not really." I confessed. "I'd just go up to him and start talking," I told her.

"We'll Alice, not everyone is as fearless as you." Melanie admitted.

It's true. I don't have many fears. And only my best friends know them. I can dance in front of lots of people. I can try a new flip for the first time without a spot. I can run and jump and trust someone will be there to catch me. And these things always make Melanie jealous.

I don't understand though. She's super smart, super pretty, super fun, and super popular.

Just then we heard a voice from the doorway.

"I'm supposed to help you wash science stuff this quarter." The voice said.

We looked to the doorway, and there was Will Jasper. The guy Melanie was just talking about.

"Hey," Melanie said calmly.

I began laughing. Hard.

"Oh hey Alice," Will said walking over to me.

"Heeyy!" I said. He smiled at me. I gazed into his brown eyes. Uhh!!! So beautiful.

"Um, Alice, are you okay?" He asked

"Ohmugod. Your getting blurry." I said feeling light headed.

Being upside down for to long makes all that blood rush to my head. I flipped backwards and off the table. Will applauded me. Melanie had a look of hurt on her face. I took the hint.

"See you guys later," I said grabbing my bag and walking out of the room.

As I made my way to the gym, I stopped at the bathroom to check my face. Hopefully my face isn't to red. As I looked at myself in the mirror, I was lucky to find that I looked just like I usually do. Shoulder length straight blonde hair that's a little shorter in the back. Green eyes and swoop bangs. Today I wore a brown tank top with a light pink off the shoulder crop top. I had dark jeans and light pink sparkly combat boots. My necklace was short and thickly woven with brown chains.

I left the bathroom and walked into the gym. One of the best sounds filled my ears.

"Alice!!"

"Griffin!" I yelled back. My best (guy) friends were sitting at our usual spot on the bleachers.

There's Griffin. He had brown eyes with dirty blonde hair that sometimes gets longer than the tips of his ears. Griffin is so much fun and super funny.

Then there's Ezra. He has light brown straight hair and blue eyes. Ezra's a little quieter, but I still love him so much.

And lastly there's Lucus. He's my dance partner. He has dark hair that spikes up in the front.

We've all been friends for a long time, but me and Ezra have been buddies since preschool. I love hanging out with the guys because I can do whatever and not be judged. The boys are like my brothers.

"How's it going Bunny?" Ezra asked. That's what he calls me.

"Pretty good boo," I replied. "Will and Melanie are now washing beakers together in the science room."

"Haha. Oh, that's cute." Lucus laughed.

"She's not gonna get him." A voice from behind us said.

I turned around to see this slut Jeannine eavesdropping on our conversation.

"Please Jeannine," Griffin said. "Melanie is great and she has a way better chance then you do"

Jeannine huffed and turned away.

"Ooooohhhhh!!" I said to Griffin. "Does someone have a crush on Melanie?"

"No." He said quickly. Very quickly.

"Are you sure?"

"Alice, I DO NOT like her. She's great, but I like someone else. I promise. If I did, I'd tell you," Griffin said sternly.

"Alright cupcake." I laughed.

Rrrrrriiiiiiinnnnnnggggggg.

"Time to go Bunny!" Ezra said picking up his book bag. Ezra and I have all of our classes together, plus our lockers are side by side. i grabbed my messenger bag and followed Ezra out of the gym. When we got to our lockers, i twisted i my combination and pulled out my English binder, my special notebook, and my pencil case.

"Hurry up," I urged Ezra. he was still pulling things out of his locker.

When he finally finished, we began walking to English. When we entered the classroom, there was a new boy talking to Ms. Isler.

"Oh! Alice! Ezra! Come here please." Ms. Isler said as she spotted us. Willingly, we walked over to her and the boy. "This is Spencer. He's new here," she explained.

"Hey," he said. I looked at him. Perfect height. Just a little taller than me. Perfect hair. Brown and wavy that flopped a little over his eyes. And his eyes. Oh his eyes. Swimming pool blue. They gazed at me, his eyes.

"Hey." I replied. He held out his hand for me to shake. Willingly, I did. His hand was soft but very firm and strong. The touch made me melt. As we pulled away, I was longing to touch him again. It made me feel safe and secure.

"Since you three have most classes together, I want you to show him around and all," Ms. Isler said, interrupting my thoughts.

"No problem," Ezra said.

"Thanks guys." Spencer said to the both of us. But I could tell his focus was on me.
