Summary: Your last mission was to find the gate that lead you out of purgatory. Your new one? Trying to rebuild the broken man you left behind.

*so much fluff*

You can feel the burning pang of the laceration between your shoulder blades as you lash your arm out, the blunt end of your makeshift knife burrowing into the skull of the fang that jumped you. They yowled as their head spun and their body jerked them upon the peaty soil.
"You," you hoist your leg up before bringing it down, the crunch of their shin below your boot resulting in another animalistic cry.
"Stupid," you kick in their other leg, "fucking." You drop to your knees, jutting an arm forward to grapple onto the collar of their long since tattered shirt, "vampire bitch." You thrust the blade forward and it slides through their neck with a satisfying 'slink'. You huff and puff, dropping their collar as their head rolled from their shoulders and their body fell back. You let out a deep puff of air as you bring your hand up and lazily wipe the blood splatter from your face. You lean down and press your arms into their limp body, bringing your feet back under you before stepping over them and continuing on your way.
How did you get to purgatory? You've got no goddamn clue, but you've been here long enough. You remember what Dean had said when he escaped with Benny from purgatory: it wasn't made to hold human souls, therefore there was an escape. You've held onto that piece of information, and you promised to damn yourself to this wretched place if you ever forgot it.
An unusual stirring drew you from your thoughts. You lifted your head, your chin rising as your head slowly swivels to survey the area. Your time in purgatory has taught you a few things:
- if you think your alone, your not
- if you think something's lurking, there is
- if you get distracted, your dead.
It was as if purgatory changed you, as if reverting you back to a time where there was no people and talking and working things over, there was only predator and predator. There was no prey, there was only the lurking and those being lurked. But still, if your were hunting you were being hunted. You felt like your senses had evolved. You could sense the things in the bushes, behind trees, and the things that weren't even there yet. You could hear your predators waiting and preparing for the jump. But this stirring, this wasn't anything that lived in purgatory. Your hair gets tugged in a breeze, and you can feel the blood roaring in your ears. The air in purgatory was still, so that meant one thing. The portal.
You skipped your eyes along the bushes, leaves, and high limbs of trees until they spotted the patch of land where the plants were shifting; swaying. You began slowly advancing, the sound of the wind drawing closer. Before you knew it you broke out in a full on sprint. You stopped in a small clearing, eyes frozen on the portal atop the small incline.
"Hey!" A gravely voice called behind you. Your head snaps back at the advancing group of vampires. To hell if they thought you were going to risk your chances of dying right now. You turned, your boots kicking up the loose needles and dirt as you booked it for the portal. You could hear their footsteps press against the ground, but never had they sounded like they were drawing closer. Your adrenaline had pushed you faster and your legs propelled you further then you ever thought they could. You dropped onto all fours as you hoisted yourself up the small hill. With one last lunge you plunged headfirst into the burning light of the portal.
"Shit!" You hissed as your body hit the ground. You spun onto your back, propping yourself up on your elbows to look at where the portal once was. Gone. And gone with it was the horrendous hell hole you were astray in. You huff, a smile lifting your once stolid and brooding features.
"Thank god." You breath out an airy laugh and drop yourself into the soil.
"Thank god!" You scream, throwing your hands in the air. Fucking finally you were free. Yeah, this place had its kinks and fair share of monsters but it was nothing compared to that place. This was fucking heaven. Well, it would really be heaven when you found yours boys. You gasp and thrust yourself to your feet.
"The boys!"
