*Rika's POV*I did it. I actually Fucking did it!
For the past year and a half, I have been in my bedroom working on my Android robot. The Skeleton itself only took about 9 months , You know, gathering parts and fixing joints and so on, the hardest part was making the skin, the hair, the clothes, all her beautiful, soft features. That was all over, as now Just had my final creation. I had my Android infront of me. I had my own perfect robotic Hatsune Miku.
Of course, at this point in time, she's just standing there, staring blankly at the wall. I was still to install her voice chip which, hopefully if done right, held all of our future conversations!
"Installing Japanese Voicebank. " The computer bleeped, downloading the specially made Japanese voicebank for Miku.
I stared at my creation, amazed at what I was capable of. I pulled her hair out of her beautiful signature pigtails and watched her hair fall gracefully.
"It's hard to think you're not a real person Miku. " I sighed, running my fingers through her hair. It feels so real.
"Installing English Voicebank" I heard the computer say, in that boring robotic monotonous voice.
"You won't sound like that, Miku, I promise. You'll have the ability to speak with expression!" I squealed excitedly, tying her hair back into the pigtails.
I looked straight into her eyes, her bright blue orbs glimmering in the light. She looked perfect. She looked alive!
I ran over to the computer and pulled out the voice chip, and slid it into her mouth gently, not wanting to tear or damage her perfect skin. I opened to battery hatch on her headphones and pushed in a couple of batteries, enough to keep her going for a few months, and turned her on.She stood in the same position, not moving for quite a while and I began to worry that I had wired her up wrong, or I hadn't used all the necessary components. I waited another minute before attempting to speak to her.
"Miku?" I said, looking directly at her. She was still for a few seconds before she turned her head to look at me.
"Choose vocal setting." She said in a flat robotic voice. I plugged her into the computer and up came a folder marked: Hatsune Miku Voice Selection
I chose English, as I was currently living in London and not many people here speak Japanese, so it would be a bad idea to set her to Japanese and then decide to take her out and no one could understand her. I looked back at Miku who was now sitting on the computer desk. She looked down at me and began to speak.
"My name is Miku Hatsune, I am a Vocaloid from Crypton Future Media. Who are you?" Her voice was still flat and monotonous, like she had no emotion at all.
"My name is Rika Ōtani, I... I made you." I said, looking up at her, watching her every movement carefully, watching how she reacts to conversation with humans.
She simply nodded and stood up. I unplugged her from the computer and she began to walk about. Nothing seemed to interest her in any way.
"Is this where you live?" She asked in a flat voice. "It's very small. And there's no.. What do you call it... " she stopped and looked like she was thinking deeply about it.
"SCANNING INTERNAL DICTIONARY" She said, in her robotic voice. "Ah, A toilet." She eventually finished.
"Oh, no Miku, those are in the other rooms of the house, this is just my bedroom. This is where I sleep. " I said, gesturing slightly towards my bed.
Miku didn't seem to care. She stared blankly at me. I had gone wrong somewhere.. She didn't have the emotions I hoped she'd have.. She was an emotionless robot...
