"Hmm.."
I looked at the dark corner. The black silhouette slowly became more clear, as it stepped into the lowly lit room. It was Tamashi.
"Hey Princess."
Tamashi was the son of my fathers colleague. I never learned her name, but she was noticeable from her looks, and she was the owner of a famous hotel.
"You here to take me on a date, Tamashi?" I said, sarcastically batting my eyelashes.
"Look," Tamashi stepped out of the corner. "I just came in here to talk to you about our families... partnership."
"I was not even supposed to be here," I paused for a short moment. "You know that."
My father had an affair with my mother when he visited the Philippines for a business trip. His wife and his six children stayed in New York. My father left her in the bedroom, with only his business card left. My fathers wife soon found out about the affair, divorced him, and moved out with all of his six children, and put a restraining order on him. My mother on the other hand, 4 years later, died in a big fire saving people from the hospital. This news spread, and it so happened to mention me. My father took me in, and I have been here ever since. One of his other six children was my age, Claire, and when she came of age, she would marry Tamashi to strengthen the bond with my fathers company and hotel. Well, since Claire moved out, I have to marry Tamashi now. He is pretty charming, and good looking, but he is unbearable.
"You don't have to dwell in the past."
"Stop trying to be cool and spit the word out already."
"Ugh.. fine. My mom..She has a proposition for you..." He trailed off.
"What is it?" I asked, mindlessly rearranging my things.
"She wants you to live with us. It'll be a great treat. And--
"And what? I'll decline either way. "
I jolted. Something hit me. Something that was cold and pointy.

"A dart should do the trick. " Tamashi watched me as I fell onto my bed.
"You should've known better not to decline our offer." He said, picking me up on his shoulder.
"No one declines the Nexus Hotel. "
