Junkyu was having a shitty day at work - not that the days he had at work were fun - but this one in particular absolutely blows, in Junkyu's opinion, at least. He had zero to no sleep last night, and his boss was an asshole about it when he accidentally dozed off during break. And to top it all off with a nice sparkly pink bow; he had a fucking nightshift.

Junkyu sighs quietly, preferably not into his mic so his boss won't have another reason to yell at him as he hears a car pull up into the drive through.

"Hello?" A loud voice echoes through his headset, and Junkyu lowers his microphone before greeting the customer.

"Welcome to McDonalds," The worker grits through his teeth, "What can I get for you?" He asks, just like he does fifty times a day.

It's quiet for a moment, creepy as it is, Junkyu hears a snort from the other side of the mic.

"The world works in strange ways, huh?" The guy says from the other end oddly enough, and a shiver runs down Junkyu's spine when a warm chuckle echoes into his ears.

Junkyu wants to sigh again, but he doesn't. "Sir.. please tell me your order when you're ready, then." He explains, and he hears the sound of plastic crinkling in his ear.

The guy's quiet for a second, then, "What's your name, Mr. Mcdonalds worker?" He asks, and Junkyu's shoulders drop, eyes darting over the counter. No one happened to be there except for him, his co-worker Asahi - who was probably sleeping in the back, he wasn't sure, and this weirdo.

"Sir i-" He pauses, lowering his voice, "I won't tell you my name.. I don't know you." The worker says calmly, and this was really too much for just a few dollars an hour; he thinks.

"If I tell you my name, will you tell me yours?" The guy asks once again, sounding desperate and Junkyu wants to literally scream.

He breathes in a shaky breath, "I can't tell you my-"

"Great!" The guy's voice interrupts, shouting into the speaker causing Junkyu to wince. "I'm Jihoon. Park Jihoon."

Junkyu's leg is tapping against the floor impatiently, and he finally lets his sigh out into the mic. "Kim Junkyu." He says, because why the hell not? Who else was there anyway? Junkyu was really alone in this cruel, cruel world.

He was also very dramatic.

"Well, Kim Junkyu, I just got out of a really bad relationship, and I kinda need someone to talk to," Jihoon says, voice low and gentle. Junkyu really wants to take his headset off and stump it into tiny pieces because who the hell would want to stay over time to console some lonely guy over a McDonald's drive through.

"Fine then, Jihoon.."He hums into the speaker. Why the hell would he do that? Now, this Jihoon guy is going to think he cares about his little sob story and that he's a nice patient guy who'd want to listen. "I'm listening." Junkyu says, because it's true. Also, it was probably about 12AM, and he had nothing better to do.

"Thanks." Jihoon says, giddiness present in his whisper. Junkyu smiles when he hears Jihoon's soft voice again. It has a certain ring to it. A ring that makes it not so irritating to hear on a fresh Tuesday at 12 AM midnight. Or 1 AM... Junkyu wasn't really sure because Jihoon's rambling sort of made him lose track of time.

"Junkyu?" Jihoon utters out, seeing if the worker is still listening. Junkyu hums again, and Jihoon giggles a raspy giggle, sounding impossibly more tired than Junkyu himself right now. "Thanks for listening.."

"Of course," Junkyu mumbles, refusing to say 'Anytime' because that would just make Jihoon think that he can come back anytime he wants - "Anytime." Damn. Junkyu's done it again.

There's a momentary silence between the two, and Junkyu would probably take the time to doze off if Jihoon's voice wasn't suddenly ringing through his ear drums again.

"Oh, and Junkyu?" The soft voiced man speaks, and Junkyu hums for what feels like the seventeenth time that night.

"Can I get a small fry, please?" Junkyu's eyes crinkle up, holding back a snort.

He wanted to scold the man for wasting his precious time. But to be completely honest, he wasn't even the slightest bit upset at Jihoon because the latter kind of made his day less shitty.
